In my area things have completely shut down no movement during daylight hours they are going completely nocturnal and aren't going too far from the bedding area.buck sightings are a myth.I dont know if its the weather w/ the change of the season or the current storm system battering the south east or hunting pressure but they are ghosts. any advice?

they might be changing feeding patterns. here most of the corn n beans are out of the fields and a lrge part of the deer have moved to oaks and apple orchards. are you hunting field edges or other food plots

It may still be a bit early yet down there, but I'll bet things will start winding up shortly. I think a combination of the crazy storm systems, full moon and very mild temps is affecting things there, much like it is here. Last Saturday I hunted all day and saw 1 deer at dark. The previous couple of hunts saw at least 9 every morning and a dozen in the evening.

If you have a lot of hunting pressure in your area, that might be pushing them further back into the timber. If deer are pressured, they won't go far during daylight hours, but wait until dark to move. But same can be said for mild temps this time of year.

Be patient, things will get better, starting this weekend.

My guess...this usually happens from too much hunting pressure and/or changing food sources. I think this is what many hunters refer to as the "lull". I would also think its a touch early for the rut in the south, but I have never hunted so I don't know. The pre-rut/chase phase usually starts to kick in right about now in Michigan.

If the deer are feeling the hunting pressure, you have to take advantage of weather patterns to get them on their feet earlier than they would like.

Yea haven't had much luck here either. Temps are dropping this weekend so hopefully that'll get some deer moving

Its too early for what is considered the traditional "lock down" where the bucks are tied up with does.
If you arent seeing anything its due to other factors you need to evaluate.
