I often hunt natural funnels around the rut (mainly before and after the peak of breeding). Funnels are often pretty easy to find just by looking at aerial photos. Below is pic showing one which is a tree line connecting two wood lots where deer bed. I labeled two locations (east side of funnel) that I hunt depending on wind direction. Below are picks of two good bucks I have taken from these stands.

Right. With maps you can only find "potentially" good spots to hunt. You need to scout in order to determine if areas might actually see some deer traffic. Also many of these type of hunting spots only produce at specific times of the season.

I found that all the scouting and pouring over maps to locate "funnels" is the first step. It's best to be in the woods and watch the deer. Some funnels are so subtle, you won't know it until you see the deer moving through the area. I've found several of my hot spots observing the deer movement and then swooping in on them.

I have access to anywhere on this map except for the lower left corner, and one this map the property is actually cut off a little bit to the north and south.
