I just had my arrows refletched at my local shop. So I was shooting this past holiday weekend and noticed that some of my fletchings would touch the cables on my Chill. I asked the owner of the shop about it and he just told me to turn my cock vane out to the side. He said it is very common with drop away rests. I am pretty new to bowhunting, but one would think that if my old fletchings fit my bow previously to having them refletched, that the problem lies within the job the person did on my new vanes? Alignment possibly? I have it dialed up but I am wondering if he just blew some smoke up my *** to cover his. I turn to you wisemen.
Same vanes as last time? I had a bow that need to have odd vane out and on that it didn't matter on. Both with drop away rest. I see odd vane out just as often as I see it up.
I had a problem with clearance after I wrapped and fletched my arrows last summer. It was my first time assembling arrows so I thought for sure I screwed something up. I scratched my head for a while but then I realized that I'm obviously not using the same jig as the arrow manufacturer so the alignment is a bit different. I twisted my nocks to shoot cock vane out and all is well. You'll be OK IMO. -D
Thats all I was wondering. I have it dialed in now but was more or less wondering why they would not be the same as before. Thanks for your help.
Its common for Blazer Vanes to do this as the are a more high profile vane than standard ones. Just turn the nocks and you'll be fine.
This isn't uncommon at all, especially with today's higher profile vanes (Quikspin, Blazer, Nitro, etc.) With the cock vane down on my Chill the vanes touch my cable as well. A little twist of the nock will fix that problem right up. It has nothing to do with negligence of your shop.
