This thread posted last month (http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?22963-Interesting-Factoid) really got me thinging about the area I hunt. I was finally able to track down some interesting stats about the Border Lakes Region of Minn. Size of Area 2,771,462 acres (~5.1% of the state) Land ownership breakdown -81.7% Public -17.8% Private -0.5% Tribal Land Use/Land Cover -72% Forest -16% Water -11% Open/Wetland -1% Pasture -<1% Developed -<1% Row Crops And finally, population density... 3.3 people/sq. mi. This all makes for a very interesting place to bowhunt!
Mind posting the link to where you found this info? I would like to see that site. Pretty interesting. Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
It's on the MN DNR site, so it only has areas in MN. But here is the link I was looking at --> http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/assistance/nrplanning/bigpicture/cwcs/profiles/border_lakes.pdf
Here in this area of Iowa, there's one person for every 30 acres. I think its getting a little too crowded!
