I woke up this mornin and drove to my hunting spot. On the way there it started raining and lightening, the whole nine yards. I checked the radar and it looked like it was here to stay for awhile. So I drove home and am spending the morning with the kids. Looks like I made the right choice its still lightening and carrying on. We just had scrambled eggs and French toast. Life is good!!!

I got lucky this moring, rain moved out early but the temps were still pretty warm. Only saw two deer, both were bucks. Got some nice video of the one that came close.

In a ground bing for this evenings hunt, hopefully it pans out better than it did last night. Saw an 8 pointer an 3 mature does last night but couldn't take a shot due light (8pm).

Against my better judgement, I'm headed to the stand. I'm not in love with the current weather situation, but with all of the talk about activity picking up it makes it hard to sit at home when the opportunity is there to be in a tree. This should end my partial sits, starting next weekend I'll be doing all day sits.

Hopefully something moves through, not going to be overly picky with the antlerless variety, but thinking I may get blanked. I'll know within 4 1/2 hours

Good luck Woodman, let us know how it turns out.

Very slow evening for me so far, hoping the 8 pointer shows back up tonight a bit earlier than he did last night.

About the same weather here. Wind has went calm and sun finally below the treeline, that's about the only thing going my way. About half way to my stand and the neighboring property decided it was a good day to shoot there handguns.

Changed my plans for me, so moved to another stand on the far end of the property. They finally stopped shooting about am hour ago. Then another hunter showed up and rode past me on a 4 wheeler, so now he is upwind of me. Hope the wind is calm enough.

Just as I was about to hit send the neighbors have opened fire again. Talk about discouragement.

No hunting on Sunday in VA, honey-do's are acceptable though. Mama has me painting the front porch on Sunday.

I'll be back out there Monday though.

Had the same thing happen to me. Movement on the property I hunt seems to be about 10-20 minutes after sundown.
