I'm about 15 minutes from back at home, better reception now. Here's the wound from an arrow other than mine. Explains why he was so skittish though, thought it was a doe. Couldn't have been more than an hour old, had dried over a bit.

Still no deer starting to think I should go look for the two on the horses instead!

Germ just had 3 ugly lesbians pass by. Sure they would love you in the pink bh.com tank top!

Wish I wasn't seeing them but public land in northern Il is like that sometimes.

Well my night finished with an a-hole come in 40 yards from me, light up a cig and start yapping on his phone. Oh well, will be back at it first thing in the AM!

So you let the hot chicks on horseback go by and you end up in the dark with some dude smoking. Not cool man.

Ya pretty much! Think the girls are camping not far from where they were riding so maybe I will get to see them again tomorrow! And I found out a bit about the guy. Seems everyone in the area knows him. Supposed to be a real nice guy just not much of a hunter. Guess he has a bad back so he can't climb a tree stand so he just hunts from the ground and smokes like a chimney the entire time. Will just have to find an appropriate buck in that area now and name him Karl then put an arrow through him! Sure that will make me feel better!

Not live from the stand but this is how my opening morning went:

I did manage to get up at 3am, showered and out the door by 3:30.

I forgot my rangefinder. The batteries were dead on my gps. I put my climber on a crooked tree. Once in the tree I took an arrow out of my quiver, put the arrow on the string and then dropped the quiver on the ground. Oops.

A doe and two fawns show up before light and eat acorns in front of me. Just as it gets to be shooting light a jogger came down a nearby trail and ran them off.

Later at 7:30 this doe came by. :)

    Way to go Christine! Congrats!

Wonder what it was about range finders this morning. Mine stopped working as well. Worked just fine yesterday but totally dead today.
