I figured out what happened. They're out of state so they pulled up and blocked the drive. I figured it was something simple, but I'd rather forgo a morning hunt due to uncertainty than disregard it and go anyway. Now I have to figure out whether to go this evening or wait and go again in the morning.

hahaah...did we have a bit of the opening morning over excitements??? I hate doing stuff like that.
This year I thought ahead, I put together 2 packs. I have a backpack for use with the climber that has everything in it for the day including a water bottle, Hooyman saw, pruning snips, screw-in hangers, haul line and of course scent free moist wipes for TP and gutting clean up. And I have a fanny pack for treestands I have hung already that I don't need as much but there is some redundancy.

The only way I know of right now is to post it to YouTube. Then do an e-mail to: and instead of sending the e-mail copy the link and paste it into this thread.

Permissions are all good, it's my Uncles property. I just wasn't sure what to think, thought maybe someone had tried to rob him or something. Last thing I'd want to do is tromp around in the dark in a situation like that. I used to always call the day before and let him know I was coming out, he told me not to worry about calling and just show up. I knew I should have called ahead anyway.

Decisions.......decisions, think I'll head back in a few hours. Finally get to try out my thermacell that wasn't needed last year.

Well, after my 3rd hour long drive of the day I'm officially live in the stand. Currently in what appears to be an early Fall acorn storm. I'm on a very weak Edge signal so posts and especially images will be tough to come by.

Unfortunately a button buck, though it was a doe. Happened so fast didn't have a whole lot of time to contemplate. It's early and I should have waited. Too late now but will be good eating. Once I found him I seen why he came in so fast. Someone else had shot under him from neighboring property. Grazed his belly.
