Well I'm back down from the tree. And now that I have a full stomach and second wind, I'm gonna head out for the evening in a different location. I'll keep ya posted.

This is live after the fact (had no cell service where I hunted today). Hunted this morning in great temps. Thought for sure I would see something, but it was a SLOW morning on the public land.

I'll be participating in this again as well. Most of my sits are all dayers regardless of time of year so it helps pass the time. Might try the phone mount this year as well, but I'm a bit partial to the remote set up on my handycam.

Looking forward to it, and good luck to everyone.

Well live from my stand here in Minnesota its our bow opener this mornin its an awesome 52 degrees and it has been a fun morning so far! I had a doe present a shot at 53 yards but passed cause it was quartering at me and then ten mins later another doe presented a shot at 35 yards and when I pulled back and raised my pins to the vitals my limb got caught on my bow hanger! Could have been bad news! But its a new tree this year gotta work out the kinks but lesson learned bow hanger moved! After all that I got a chance to video a spike buck for a minute or two so all an all not a bad first hour and a half! Good luck to everyone else huntin today!

Well three more squrill hunters came through and they fired off 12 shots pretty close to me. How many shots does it take to kill one? So I moved to another location. I'm between.l a pine clear-cut and a pond.[IMG][IMG]

I feel your pain, man. I hunt public land as well so I know what it's like. Did you let them know your location?

The first guy that came through yes. The second group that fired all the shots no. I whistled to them and they didn't hear me. They were Mong which from my experience they don't follow the unwritten code of when you see another hunter that was there first you leave the area. Which is their prerogative so this is not a rip on mong's it is just how they are.

Just got set up along a stone wall on the edge of a hay/clover field. It's my first time hunting this farm and I've only scouted it once but we'll see how it goes. The wind is perfect for this spot and works against all my other spots so I don't have much choice. I have about 7 acres of overgrown pasture behind me which is where they bed and a corn field across the street about 400 yards away. I laid down some vanilla extract from the trail in the pasture to the field so hopefully it all works out. If I don't write an update you can assume I got skunked.
