So this is the bull I located Tues night. I got three awesome trail cam vids of him chasing one of his cows. He is no doubt King of that mountain and is a true giant for this unit!!
He is a main frame 6x6 with about a 3 in sticker off his left whale tail. I thought I had him dead to rights this AM. He came up the mountain screaming at me the entire way. Cutting off my bugled and tearing up the forest. He ended up skirting me at 100 yds. I starting to think he has no need to fight and expects the cows to come to him. I tried to close the gap on him and get right in his wheel house but I started getting into the cows and he kept straight up the mountain. Was afraid to get busted so I backed out AGAIN. The good news is he went back up the saddle where I first saw him so I'm hoping he comes back down the same way. Gonna sit the set where I first saw him and filmed the spike. Hopefully he screws up.
I have been and he calls right back but he will Only come in so far. Same deal three times now. He gets close but not close enough
Are you calling from above or below? Can you sound like a calf. If you pull his cows over, he should follow.
Well gonna spent the afternoon trying to call a bear for my friend then back after my bull. Hopefully tomorrow's update will show my hands around his antlers
So your trying to call a bear for your buddy but he cant get back a little and call that bull for you? Seems like if you had someone drop back a little and call he could then maybe in range for you. He's a stud by the way. Would be hard to arrow something else if you coming so close to him. The pictures seem like u had a clear shot use that 100yard pin like Cameron
Give em hell man. Give some pleading cow calls and some challenge bugles like you are taking away some of his cows.
I've now been set up both above and below him.... I'll try the calf call hadn't really thought of that. I had a different bull come in on a string last night. Again hung up at 70ish yds. These Bulls are acting like henned up gobblers that don't wanna fight. IDK. I'm up above the saddle again where I had the encounter last night. We'll see. Been COLD and rainy last few days. This morning was plain miserable. The trails are slip n slides. Lol. Got a break in the weather this evening. Hoping it holds out.
