You get what you vote for, elections have consequences. It does suck though there are numerous other states that are playing and practicing. Michigan case numbers dropping or steady?

November 3, 2020 begs to differ.

    ************

Germ, what are colleges doing in regards to scholarships? Basing offers on 2018/2019 season and stats? Tryouts and combines?
I realize not every sport would be the same but for the big ones...basketball, football, hockey, baseball and soccer.

yeah but it's not just Michigan school sports that are shut down. Pretty much every Blue state has been and a few squishy R-led states as well. Probably most of the big cities; which would disparately impact minority youths....

I wonder if a class-action an/or civil rights suit is in the works?

Currently it’s just Michigan and Hawaii, even Illinois is scheduled to start playing and New York.

The best lines was from a student Mary Grace.

"This is the age of information, ignorance is a choice"

"For the last 10 months, you have taken adult health into consideration, when is someone going to take care of our health consideration"

I am paraphrasing that last one, I can't remember it word for word.

I was going to make a smartass (yet still supportive) comment but I just can't...as I sit here in my car waiting for the vet tech to come out and take my dog I am listening to am talk radio and they have on the mother of a teenage boy that killed himself last month because of the school lockdowns and the likelihood that his football scholarship hopes had been crushed... she's sobbing as she tells his story.

    His name was Trevor.

These kids deserve better. And not just my hypothetical ones.

The kids don't care because they don't get very sick with Covid. But, they sure as heck spread it to those that do. We are playing high school sports and the kids are passing around covid like candy. Had to close school down again before Christmas and we have had a lot of teachers and coaches get really sick. We have had parents of athletes get really sick and miss weeks of work and we have had grandparents die. No way we should have been playing. It actually cost lives in our small town. But, the kids are happy they got their glory days. Worth it?

In a few weeks we should have the vaccine, then all systems go. Just another perspective based on actual events.

See below, what the heck are you guys doing in Iowa?

"We’ve had over 30,000 rapid COVID tests conducted over the last month with our three fall sports,” he said. “The negative rate of those 30,000-plus COVID test is 99.8 percent. I’m not sure how you can get much stronger data than that. All we can do is continue to collect the information, continue to share it, continue to share that with our schools, which we have done over and over and over again. However, I can’t speak on the state government’s behalf because I just I don’t have that insight to how the using the data we provide them.”

No idea Germ. All I know is that we lost lives when school and school sports opened back up. Small rural communities hate masks and social distancing. I know two teachers that are sick now and guess what, so are their kids. Weird.

What is interesting is your numbers are way better than ours.

That's because we have all had it! lol

Honestly, I know more people that have had it than not. Many of them never reported, just stayed home and got through it. We have a group of 7 couples that travel together and get together for dinner, etc. Of those, 5 of the 7 couples have had it. I think our numbers would have blown the top off if people actually reported, but most did not want to be "in the system". Others had jobs where they could be to themselves and did not want to be told to stay home by public health. State and local health officials called me three times while I was sick. I tell ya, rural communities dance to their own drummer. lol

Guys, it now goes deeper than I thought. Our group admin was banned from Facebook for our group. We have done all we could not make this political, even at our rally we made a point of no political signs, no flags, no deeming the Govoner or health department. I am not a conspiracy theory guy at all, we are being targeted. Post with no hate, no lies are being deleted. If some were on the fence about this, it's happening, and not to crazy guys in fur, to moms and dads fighting for their kids.

Well, you didn't fall into line. You are scary to them when you think for yourselves. Quit being difficult and drink the Kool-Aid.
