what did you guys use to start your youngster? I have a 3 year old at home and was thinking of introducing a recurve for him while I shoot my bow. guys at the archery shop were telling me to get the Genesis Mini, but I dont really want to spend $170 on a kids bow

Good job starting them with a trad bow. Don't do the compound thing till they are older. Black Rhino bows. Search that online. I know that's the brand my father uses to introduce really small kids to archery. They make both recurves and longbows for kids and adults that are very reasonable.

At 3 it really does not matter. Just make it fun. Balloons with water or flour in them. Most small bows suffer from poor arrows and when I started my kids I had some good shafts made and it was a big improvement. If thay are still flinging arrows at 7 or 8 then a Genesis would be a good investment. Kids just want to have fun and be with you. Leave the real technical stuff for later.

This is a good bow for a young kid. I just bought this same bow for my daughter, she is 4. She loves shooting it and very easy to use, and also comes with everything they need to get started. I just got it at Cabelas on sale for 10.99. But with coupon, I got it for 8.99, can't beat it for the price!

I just bought my 2 year old daughter a Dollar General toy bow, just to get her a little familiar with one. She takes it when we shoot in the yard. I bought my older 2 kids the Diamond Nuclear Ice when they graduated from the toy bows. I believe Diamond changed that out with the Atomic, or something like that?

I started my little boy on a toy set with the rubber suction cups. Just to make sure he liked it. I would even take him to 3D shoots with his bow he loves it. Now I just got him a cheap one from Walmart.

For a 3 year old I'd Buy one from Walmart or another store like that, $40 or under.

I started mine with a little green bear bow sold at bass pro or cabelas. He loved it when he was small. We upgraded to a mission for his 7th birthday. He loves his new bow.
