It was about 9am and I noticed movement over my right shoulder. I turned to see a very nice doe coming in from a nearby pond. I watched as she made her way diagonally towards me which would put her in one of my shooting lanes at about 30yds. She went right where I thought she would and stopped quartering away at about 30yds. I held at 25 because I thought with the distance of the shot she might just duck enough that I would miss. She stopped and I let go of the arrow and watched it sail right over her back. She takes off and I'm left with a dumb look on my face and a red lighted arrow seemingly looking back at me mocking me. I waited about 45min and then got down just to make sure I had missed cleanly. Once I got down there I think I saw the problem. That ground where she was standing was on a hillside much lower than the ground my tree was on. So I think that's part of the reason I shot so high. Anyway that's the story I'm sticking with. Passed a 4pt. at 15 yards tonight. I gotta say, with the way my season has gone I was tempted to end it all right there. The deer wars continue. Blessings......Pastorjim
