So my local shop is very popular, however, it's only good if you are a regular.. so a young guy 18 yrs old I know buys a bow from there last yr. he missed a deer last yr. he missed twice on Sat..this yr...so I said to him let me see you bow..well, the shop put his sight on backwards!! he has a 26.5 DL and his bow was set at 28.5"!!! peep was all wrong and wouldn't line up...I have bought bows from here and I have him set them up, but I stand there and I tell him exactly what i want and i make sure he does it...this poor kid didn't know...I wonder just how many have gone out of this shop like that, or any shop for that matter...do shops just get lazy and take advantage of the newbies or those who just don't know?? Im glad there is a site out there like this and AT to help people out.

I'd like to say, "unbelievable" but I can believe it. Shame that it is there are some pathetic shops out there open for no other reason than $. To that I say, why not take pride in your work? It's not that hard.

Unfortunately I can also believe it. I've heard of similar situations.. makes me wonder why some shops are called "pro" shops.

I heard something like that about a pro shop by me. He set up a friends wife's bow and her her shooting with a draw length 2 inches 2 long. I this day and age why would a shop owner be too lazy to set up a bow properly. With the internet you can blast shops in a heart beat.

That is the reason I drive over an hour to get things on my bow worked on. I have zero faith in the shops around my area.

I too can believe it! I actually just experienced it about 2 weeks ago because I needed the strings and cables changed out on the woman's Admiral. I know I could have just done it myself being a center pivot, but I didn't want to have to do that with season already open. I should have just done it in the first place because I had to do it anyway when the guy that we USED to deal with for everything archery had the nocking point 1/4 high and the peep was tweeked! C'mon man...do your job all the way not half @ss! I'll have my own press within 3 months after this last episode.:D

i had a "pro" tell me while i was shooting my bow with new arrows that i needed to "upgrade" to a dual caliper release (I shoot a lil goose and a cobra green mamba) because "the torque that the one jaw creates on the loop affects my accuracy negatively" I picked up a house arrow, dropped it in the X, then destroyed the nock on it with one of mine. "i think i am doin ok dude"
