We have a dry pond on our property that after good rain will hold water 4-5 days before it seeps out, so obviously it leaks some place. Former CRP is in and surrounding the pond and the soil makeup is quite heavy with clay. The pond itself is well shaped.

I'd like to get this pond holding water again and am leaning toward installing a liner, probably in the 60' x 60' range. A one piece isnt cheap at around $2500. I've thought about bentonite, but if I'm investing the dollars, I want it to work and I've heard bentonite is hit or miss.

Any of you ever installed a liner in a former farm pond...any help is great.

I should have said my experience ....we had a 1 acre pond that flowed into a smaller goldfish pond (Big one) ... the Acre pond was heavy clay and the goldfish pond was a liner ... I would NOT chance the bentonite ...but that is me ...
