Does anyone know where I can get a linemans clip for my tether? I need to get it tomorrow which is the day before the opener. Would a hardware store carry these?

Do you mean a D-ring or a caribiner? If so, you should be able to pick up a good one at an army surplus store.

Yep...you should be able to get a really good one much cheaper at the army surplus. ($8-$12) If you go to a sporting goods store I'm sure you'll pay more for one.

Please make sure it is rated for a fall. Don't trust a clip that is rated for less than you weigh either. Not trying to be a smarta$$. Just be safe.

Most of the good locking caribiners at an army surplus are for climbing. And I agree, if you don't know for sure, ask someone if it will work for what you intend to use it for.

I go to the chain section of fleet farm and get the heaviest rated quick release snaps for a couple bucks. I get the 1000lb rated snaps
