Does the fact that both of their former teams gave up on them for basically nothing tell you how good these 2 really are?

They got a very late draft choice for him, they didnt get Manning for Tebow. If he is as good as some people were saying why didnt any team pony up a high draft pick for him?

I was saying that if Denver had not got Manning Tebow would likely still be there.

Im not saying Tebow is the best QB ever to hit the NFL but he does have talent.

Well Knicks didn't want to give up. Houston just offered a huge contract that would be stupid to match. Tebow is an average quarterback.

Not trying to start a tebow war, but the Jets and Rockets are going to make up for these deals ten fold just through marketing. Tebow in NY NY big city of dreams, endorsing everyting under the sun and Lin in Houston following right behind Yao....and their 1 billion followers.

The owners did not aquire the amount of money required to own these teams by being dumb in the business world.

I don't know how much of a craze there is with linsanity anymore. That kind of folded like a cheap lawn chair. He burst onto the scene and was a sportscenter frenzy for a couple weeks (almost to the point where it was unbearable to watch). JMO but reality set back in. I think he's an ordinary at best NBA player next year. Tebow in NY is just going to be a complete circus

I agree..put Manning on the Jets and Sanchez would have been gone (or at worse riding pine) and who ever really thought that Lin was good anyhow? a flash in the pan imho.

Everyone who knows anything about sports should even have known he was a wave to ride.....nothing to bank the house on !!!!!!!

Jeremy Lin would have cost the Knicks almost 30 million in that third year of his contract, due to the luxury tax that their large payroll has met. Sure he can play, but he isn't worth that kind of money.

The two guys don't have much in common really. Tebow found a new team after his team brought in a top 3 all time QB. Jeremy Lin would have been the best PG on the Knicks roster had they kept him, and they would acknowledge that fact...they just simply couldn't afford him.

I am for watching amd waiting to see what happens. True; Timmy T is a bit average as a quarterback... but he is an above average competitor that does not quit. Lin was injured, how will he do when he is healthy? We'll just have to wait to see. Something tells me that they could both win championships (not likely... agreed) and still be hated by those who refuse to like them for whatever reasons haters choose to hate.

Couldn't have said it any better. Fans could care less about how much money the teams pulls in. They want to win and win some more. You can't put a good team together when you're over spending on one guy that played in the right system.

I'm with Muzzy man on this one, Tebow definitely is a competitor and he didn't mind taking a hit if he had to, I would say he will be fun to watch this season, I thought he did a decent job in Denver

As much as I dislike Ryan I love Tebow, just for his fight, not because his abilities.....because he's lacking in pure QB skills. I'd love to see the man succeed, because he "isn't supposed to".

I love their heart, desire, discipline and what they stand for. I love that both of them, when told they couldn't over and over again have proven that they, indeed, can.

I love that it's July and MonsterRaxx already as Tebow on the brain :)

I never intended for that to be my point at all.

Jest are a legitimate contender, adding tebow to the back up QB position does nothing to change that. It does add millions upon millions in sales of appareal that Mark Brunell was not generating as the previous back up. he can also fill a void for a while as well.

Jeremy Lin is not going to a Rockets team that is one player away from anything, and those billion people in chine need a new yao, not many of them get over 5', or play in the NBA. When both of those happen, they come out in full force.

Neither team is any worse for these moves physically, and both are a ton better finacially. At the end of the day it is still a business.
