By recording two public service announcements supporting the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), radio personality Rush Limbaugh has given the number one enemy of sportsmen nationwide legitimacy! The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) has initiated a public campaign to educate Rush about the dangerous, animal rights agenda of the HSUS. Why is Rush Wrong? The HSUS has spent years working to “mainstream” itself and appear to be a cuddly, friendly organization that takes care of abandoned pets. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. The HSUS shares with PETA and other animal rights groups an extreme agenda of eliminating American traditions such as hunting, fishing, and trapping. Every major piece of legislation, lawsuit or ballot issue that would restrict the rights of Americans to hunt originated with the HSUS. This includes bankrolling efforts to ban the hunting of America’s #1 game bird, the mourning dove, lobbying legislation to ban the only effective hunting methods to control black bear numbers, opposition to hunting on Sundays, and opposition to allowing parents the ability to choose at what age their sons and daughters are permitted to begin hunting and much, much more.
