Ok guys, i'm looking for some suggestions on lightweight boots. My feet get hot in a hurry so I need something that breathes well. Also, I do not like a very tall ankle. I'm shooting for something in the 2-3lbs range. Last thing I want is a heavy boot when i'm logging 5+ miles a day. Thanks!

I'm a big fan of the Cabelas uninsulated Outfitter Series 7" Boots. I've been wearing my for 3 years now almost daily and have pretty much wore them out as I used them for everything. I plan on ordering another pair soon. Very comfortable, waterproof, and not too heavy. And not too bad of a price at $130

For long treks, I have Danner Pronghorns. They're a bit pricey at 170, but I havent had one issue with my pair and they sure are comfortable.

I am on my second pair of Danner Pronghorns in 10 years. I bought my second pair last year and have to say, they are awesome for the money....no blisters or sore feet what so ever.

Another option would be Kenetrek Hardscrabble Light....

Another vote for the danner pronghorns... never had a leak, extremely comfortable and lightweight. I bought a pair of uninsulated pronghorns for $135 and as far as boots are concerned, I've never been happier.

Are these Pronghorns quiet when bending your foot? The last few pairs of boots I've had are noisier then what I like. When I'm sitting In northern Mn on a bear stand when It's dead still, It's so easy to hear noise. That's when I noticed It.

I've worn this boots in temps ranging from the mid 90's to 0 and never heard a thing. I would imagine the same would be true for the insulated models but I've not purchased a pair... yet.

I must've gotten the lemon Pronghorns. Mine leaked from Day 1....and aren't the least bit comfortable. I wouldn't pay $50 for another pair.

I'll let you know on the Kenetrek's (Hardscrabble lights - see above link). I bought a pair a couple months ago, and I've only worn them, sparingly (it's HOT, here....and I've been wearing other shoes, of late).

If it's lightweight and comfortable your looking for I bought the scent blocker knee high boot last year and it is like I'm wearing tennis shoes. The negative on them is instead of being 100% water proof they're 100% water absorbant :) But damn comfortable.
