OH yeah.. now thats a stud! Way to go Mike, amazing what you can do when you make them hunt u! nice work on the scrapes.
He's actually a 7-point Scott. Busted his brow on his right side in a fight. Has 2 dagger marks in the top of his skull from that fight. BIG scars with dried blood. Woulda like to have seen the other buck. Oh.. and thanks for some of that off-season reading on mock-scrapes you guys had on here months back. It helped some when I formulated this whole plan. Still cannot believe it worked as well as it did.
They (mocks) work well out here when placed in the right place, I can only imagine how well they would work were deer densities are much higher. I hope I kill one more this season in Idaho that will make two mockers for me as well, my first buck this year was coming right to my scrape when I shot him. The rest of the time I will be hunting Idaho this month will be over mocks.
That's awesome Troy. I've tried them several times over the years with no avail.. This year I just took the extra steps.. made it more of a mock community scrape.. and literally the deer tripled it's original size. It was amazing. And I started this thing in August.. just to make sure deer would catch on.. by October they were doing all the work. I know one thing already.. It will become a new part of my bag of tricks.. and I will start this one in August of next year again.
Awesome! I'm going to have to pick your brain a bit about this. I'm curious, and may want to find a location to try this next season.
Duke, your running out of arrows by the looks of your quiver!! Great buck Duke, congratulation's once again!!
