Both companies have 5 year guarantee warranties in the LEDs and ballasts As for reading spikes, I tried to do some reason on a surge suppressor that counts spikes. I remember a surge protector company coming to the engineering firm I work for, they introduced (what I considered) an awesome product. It not only protected your systems by surge protection but also counted the number of spikes it felt. When I get back to the office next week I'll find the brochure I received. Also, let me know more specifics, how many fixtures are in your barn now, if they have 2 T8 lamps or 4. LEDs are WAY better priced now than a few years ago, and going down every day.
