What is the best lighted nocks you guys have tried out? As in which ones are the brightest and have the longer battery life. I have tried out burt coyote nocks, nocturnals, and the carbon express launch pad. And in my opinion the launch pads fit my arrow the best, but I do use carbon express arrows.

I've always been a fan of how the nockturnals operate.

Agreed. And the toughness, reliability and battery life are phenomenal.

I also prefer Nockturnals for the reason above. Nothing else I have tried as been anywhere near as good for me.

The Launchpad nocks are nice and work well, but good luck getting them out of your arrows without breaking them. I had more of them break off inside my arrows than I can remember and they are a PITA to get out.

I've used Nockturnals and had decent luck with them. I just don't like the mechanism for turning them off, and after they go through an animal the little hole gets full of blood and debris and makes them a lot more difficult to use.

As far as brightness goes, you can't beat a Lumenok. Their new HD Orange nocks are insanely bright. And provided you prep your arrow properly I've never had a single issue with them not working. Specifically if you're using CX arrows with nock collars you have to sand the anodizing off the collar to expose the bare metal. In my experience it also helps if you glue the nock collar down as well. Do that and they'll work every time.

I've used Nocturnals for the last few years and like them, but as Justin mentioned, they're a bit of a PITA to turn off. I had the issue with blood, etc inside the that little hole and found a really easy solution. Just put a bit of string wax over the hole. No more blood in them.

I'm debating on shooting these new GT Kinetic Pierce arrows this year and am looking at nock options. Nocturnal still is the front runner for me. Reason... weight. Most other makers, their nocks are extremely heavy. I also like that the Nocturnals are all contained inside the nock and nothing has to be stuffed down inside the shaft. Just my two cents.

Interesting idea! I might give that a try this season.
But in case it ever fails, I've found (purely by accident) that Nockturnals do pretty well with a cycle or two in the washer & dryer. It didn't get all traces of blood out, but it did a fine job of clearing out the on/off "cavity" and they continue to function flawlessly to this day.

Nockturnals. I turned one on and left it on for kicks and giggles and it lasted like 6 days or something like that. Advertised 24 hour battery life

I use the GT nockturnals and they are outstanding on battery life. It says 20 hours of light well mine have exceeded that. I target practiced one night, forgot to turn off my knocks, and almost 24 hours later I went back in my case and they were still on. They weren't as bright as they first were but you'd still be able to see it in the woods.

Another vote for nocturnals. Lumenoks are definitely brighter but if you hit something hard like the offside shoulder they have a tendency to back out and turn off. Never had that problem with the Nocturnal. I did like the fact that Lumenocks you could swap batteries thats an advantage because you can get batteries dirt cheap in bulk.

The only problem that I have encountered with the nocturnals so far is the last two packs I bought (one for me and a buddy) ours didnt quite have a good fit into the arrows in which they were designed to be used for. We put some superglue on them and have not had a problem since. I have not tried to removed them either..... At the ATA show this year they are coming out with a universal fit that will fit all the arrows though so that's a positive moving forward.

I really like Nocturnals. I have used them for years now. They are the easiest to Shut On and Off and they have worked really well for me. I like the original design the best.

I find Nockturnals to be pita to turn off and I've found them back on after I thought they were off. Unfortunately it's usually after coming home from work and they've been on all day. I really like how easy the CE Launchpads are to turn off and they seem plenty bright. The downside is what Justin pointed out. Just last night I tried removing two that had finally burned out and the insides stayed in the shaf.

I picked up some Lumenoks before my last hunt. Unfortunately, I grabbed the wrong size and didn't get to try them. :(

So for me, the jury is still out.

It would have to be an awful small rod to fit through the hole in the insert. And if you're like me and have brass weights on your inserts that won't work.

If you don't have weights in back of insert a air compressor works great. Just point it in a safe direction and lower the output and slowly raise it as needed.

My experience with nockturnals has been great, I will say though make sure you bring something with you in the woods to turn the light off. I had one that was a little more sensitive than the others. It nearly got me busted

The tip of my pocket knife always works best for me to turn my Nocturnals off.
