they are not expensive, but with the season so far away I figured I'd see which one everyone likes the most. I liked how you could use your knife on the noc-turnals to turn off the light rather then twisting and pulling on the other brands.

    Nocturnals all the way.

I disagree with them not being expensive. :poke:

I didn't know the prices on the nocturnals where more money the the lumenocks I would have to say your right 30 bucks for three is a lot more then 10 dollars for two.. what i was really getting at though is that for the money i am sure they all perform just fine. didn't mean to sound like i was made of money. being a college student i most definitely am not.

Nockturnals here too. One of mine has been through 4 deer, and its still bright as the day I bought it. It even stayed on for an hour as a big buck came through after I shot a doe.

Gotcha. I hate paying that much money for lighted nocks but they are worth it. I don't put them on till right before the season and then make sure they shoot the same.

How much do nocturnals weigh guys???

I shoot lumenoks now with no complaints except having to pull the nock out of the arrow a little bit after every shot.

    How do the nocturnals operate?

Btw, you can get a 3 pack on ebay for 20$ shipped most any time.

I too may be using lighted nocks this year. It sounds like the Nocturnals are popular amongst the group here, so I'll have to check them out.

Not according to the Noctural website. You just need to buy a different size.

    How do the nocturnals operate?[/QUOTE]

from what i have seen you can use your knife to touch a small button or something to turn them off after each shot. other brands have to be twisted or pulled slightly to turn off

The nocturals operate by means of an internal "slider" type switch. The force of the shot moves the switch forward. Then you take a knife, or other sharp object and slide the internal switch back through a small window to turn it off.

The first time you turn a noctural off it takes a little bit of force but after the first time they slide easier.

I would suggest Firenocks. I use thwm and know many others that use them and love them. no pulling or twisting of the nock. once you nock your arrow you dont have to do anything else. as you release your arrow the force of your arrow moving triger the nock to light up. and to turn them off just tap them on a log or other hard surface and they turn off. They will glow for 24 hours and are very bright.
