I am just wondering if there is anyone else out there that has purchased a lifetime hunting license in IL and has moved out of State. I am currently a week away from moving across the border into WI, but only enough to say that I don't live in IL anymore. I still will be hunting in IL, actually both states, I bought 40 acres with a house in WI. I have read thru the IL DNR website that if you purchase a IL Lifetime License you won't need to ever buy one again, but it is no longer eligible for deer or turkey permits. So I emailed our great State or should I say former, and got a reply that stated that my license won't be valid at all. So is there anyone out there that has a lifetime hunting license in IL and is a nonresident?

Man that's crappy. They should've called it a "Lifetime Resident license"

That's true of most states lifetime licenses. You can hunt for your lifetime but it excludes applying for big game tags as a resident. It's still worth it if you buy the lifetime if you are young enough and plan to hunt / fish the state frequently.

I have a KS lifetime. It was my sweet 16 birthday present. Might I say one of the best gifts ever. It's hard to image the hunt and fish combo was $400 back then.... It's more then paid for itself! The lifetime is now $960 and change.

I wish I would have bought one back in the early 90's then I would be grand fathered in for the deer licenses.
