There out there I know....and you too can buy them at around $40 a pop. But if you're like me and desire to not have to spend $40x10....x20 or however many sets it may be I found this video extremely helpful and beneficial in the simplicity of creating your own lifeline system. We will begin creating this for next year and hope to have all of our stands with a lifeline by 2014 deer season no excuses. Prussic Safety Line
I doubt that would ever happen. Need product liability insurance... Yes even on a simple rope. Some knot head would figure out how not to use it correctly and then place blame on the "manufacturer".
Yup...but wouldn't be surprised if NAP or another company they're associated with would start making it and BH.com may have them available for sale...but still like stated much cheaper to buy materials in bulk for sure!
No excuses? What's your excuse for the next 3 months for not putting them up? Why would you wait to implement this until next hunting season?
Plan on it if possible. Until then I will continue to do everything as I always do which is never less than three points of contact while climbing, hooking safety harness up before even switching from climbing to stand (when the majority of falls occur). If I can grab some rope I find satisfactory I will probably start making these up and take them to stands as I hunt them, but not going to make trips to every stand this year, but will as I hunt them.
I figured they must. Would be more dangerous using them not tied off then not using one at all I figured. Sent from my SCH-I200 using Tapatalk
Well, if my mishap helps change even one other hunter's habits, it will make it no less painful for me, but a lot less painful for that other person.
I made about 5 of these before the season started and put them out when I hung my stands. Very easy and cheap insurance. Blessings.........Pastorjim
I just purchased one a few weeks ago to see how there put together. I was hanging a stand about a month ago and one of the buckles on my 3' ladder stick blew apart. about 15 feet up. Had my safety vest on and my linemans belt attached and luckily slid straight down and feet landed on the next stick. About ripped my bicep off on the stick tho. The lifeline is definitly a sweet set up and plan on making or buying one for every stand. Thanks for the link.
My son is going to pick up the rope and make 4 for me as my left hand is useless right now. After discussing it, we decided to attach the top with the line I attach my safety harness to when I'm in the tree, so I'll be hooked up 100% from the time I'm on the ground to the time I return intentionally return to the ground.
