Other day I was watching some hunting shows and couldn’t stop thinking about how much I missed the Bowhunting.com community and all the great people on here. I used to be quite active on here in high school when I had plenty of time to hunt, but college and baseball have consumed lots of my time and me being in Iowa away from our Wisconsin Family farm sure doesn’t help. I won’t get to bow hunt until winter break and have been getting the itch hard. Just wanted to wish everyone luck the rest of the season and congrats to those who have killed so far! BHOD

Do you qualify as an Iowa resident? Can you get a tag down there and hunt before/after school or on weekends?

I have looked into the Iowa requirements a little bit. I believe I don’t not require for residency since I don’t have a pay stub. Not entirely sure however though since I have lived here for well over 90 days. Might be worth calling the Iowa DNR. If it I didn’t have baseball every darn day I’d have this all figured out by now!

Junior college baseball unfortunately isn’t. Weightlifting 5 days a week at 6am and practice 6 days a week in the afternoon. No restrictions make it pretty easy for coaches to take up hunting time

I luv the good folks of Rural Iowa ! Pure salt of the earth. Although scenery leaves a lot to desire in winter !

I’m pretty sure that if you go to school here you can get resident tags. Don’t quote me but almost positive that’s how it works.
