A while back my dad brought up the idea to go ahead an get my almost 3 year old son his life time hunting and fishing license. He agreed to pay for half of it. So this morning the three of us (me, the wife, and our son) jumped in the car and made the 3 hour drive to OKC. Almost 800$ later here it is. He doesn't know what it is yet but daddy is pretty excited!

That is awesome! I keep having relatives ask about big gifts for my daughters and that is a wonderful idea. Well done!

At what age does he have to have a hunting and fishing license? In Iowa, kids dont have to get a license until they are 16 as long as they are with a licensed adult.

Pretty sure it's 16 here also. The idea was to buy it now before the price goes up or they do away with them, which they have talked about. Residents in OK get screwed if you don't have a lifetime and want to hunt everything.

That makes sense. Neat idea. We dont have that option here.

That is awesome... and Pricey.... I think they are $260 here for a lifetime license.

Does it cover all tags and such, or just basic hunting license?

It cost 775$ here for hunting and fishing. It's covers license and tags for everything except bear. I'm guessing they just wanted to make extra $$ off of people hunting bear.
