I had gotten to know a gentleman in the area in which I work over the past year or so. We talked when we saw each other. I believe we had bought each other food at 7-11 at one time or another when one of us forgot our wallets. He was around 50-60 years old and would walk wherever he went, looking for cans and other things he could make some small money off. He was poor, but happy, and extremely nice. A few days ago as I was working I saw him walking late at night toward the 7-11. The next day I woke up to reports he and two other people died in a fire that engulfed their trailer. Unreal and saddening. Like can change quickly for any of us.
You are right Dan. I remembered seeing him walking and thinking, "man he sure is up late". I never saw the guy buy beer, cigarettes, or anything else. He bought food and the things he really needed. I just can't believe it.
Sorry to hear Brett. All the more reason that we should be doing what we love with who we love. Life is just to short to worry about the crap that doesn't matter.
Really does put things in perspective when things like that happen. Live for today.... tommorow isn't guaranteed. Sorry to hear that man.
Sorry to hear. Another reminder that we all need to enjoy each day and not take it or one another for granted...
