People can interpret the bible how ever they want, that doesn't mean what they believe is correct. The bible is pretty darn clear about it's stance on homosexuality. Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Leviticus 18:22 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Lev.20:13 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha ... giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh ... suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 7-8
A mans interpretation of a rule doesn't change the rule. I interpret the speed limit as more of a guideline, but if I get pulled over for speeding, I'm still going to get a ticket.
So I assume you are in favor of executing all gays? I mean, you cannot pick and choose what you believe in the Bible, correct?
Separation of church and state has been twisted from what the constitution intended. That's why separation of church us not in the constitution. sent from my samsung note 2
Obviously not, because that would violate one of the 10 commandments. Thou Shalt not Kill. Come, keep up here!
This is a very good post. Dont forget that alot of people go to church as a "status". This is actually why i quit going. When the church is full of hipocrites putting on an act, it doesnt feel like the place to be. IF you are a TRUE Christian....murder, theft, lust, homosexuality among other things are all sins that you need to repent. But alot of the "new age" christians overlook homosexuality and "forgive" because Christians are supposed to be forgiving. It never says these people are going to heavan though... Of course. The bible leaves a lot to interpretation, so spin it how ever you want to fit your beliefs or agenda. Thats how it works.
It's still a Christian ceremony/institution.. To say otherwise is being insensitive to Christians... Which is totally acceptable in today's society, but insensitive none the less. Civil Unions replacing Marriage as the legal term, Marriage being reserved for those wishing to partake in the religious ceremony.... SHOULD appease all sides. It will never happen because Christians will never budge on it being illegal all together, and Gay activists will never budge until it is called a Marriage and their point is proven. It is what it is. I am indifferent to it.
I don't know, do you know for certain? So the couple I know, who are foster parents and go to church are doomed on judgement day, correct? The drug addicted mom who had the girls out of wedlock, abused them, and slept around is good on judgment day if she confess her sins and ask for forgiveness. That's what I got out of my years if private school
Was the first term marriage, wedlock, matrimony? Im sure one of these words first appeared in the bible and is a christian word... Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Muslims? Mormons? Do they not get married, are we being insensitive to them? What about native Americans who use to live here, they married, what should we call those?
Does it matter if it is a Christian word or not? The fact is that if a Christian church wants to marry 2 gays, that church should be able to marry them. That's it. You can disagree with that church, you can hate the gays, you can wish they were executed from lightning from above, but the fact is that the church should have the right to pronounce 2 dudes to be lawfully wed.
If thats "biblical law", why is that so hard to accept? Lets be honest....god knew what woman was up to after eve ate the fruit anyways And we certainly punish petty theft less then murder...right? Why do you feel so bad that god has strict rules on what you can and cannot fornicate with? Its all very simple to me... Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
