So you want a theocracy...okay, you are entitled to your opinion. A pretty slippery slope if you ask me though. Based on your perspective that separation of church and state is a myth and we are Christian nation, what punishments should the govt impose on adultry, pre marital sex, using the Lord's name in vane, or whistling at a woman? Should we force all businesses to close on Sunday? No wait, we can't do that. There would be no restaurants open after church for the self righteous to go to after services and sit around and condemn those that don't uphold the sanctity of the Sabbath. Nevermind, I almost forgot, we were a nation founded on Jewish principles as well...the Sabbath is Saturday...better shut em down on Saturday as well, just to be safe.
Hell, I guess we should all just get together, smoke some weed, do some crack, run a train on each other. It's all good, love is love man!
We are a christian nation, founded on christian principles. If you can show me where the separation of church and state is in the Constitution or any of our other founding documents I will gladly admit I am wrong. Your reading comprehension is quite poor if you see anywhere that I said we should be anything close to a theocracy.
The men were not practicing Christians, lol. How slaves did Jefferson get pregnant? Our founding fathers were men, just as flawed as we are today.

Of the founding fathers, a worse candidate to be described as a practicing Christian than Jefferson would be hard to find except maybe Franklin... on most days.
So for those of you who don't want to change the definition of marriage based purely on religious reasons. If you and your particular church does not support or recognize gay marriage, why would you care if other religions recognized it? There are plenty of differences in denominations, wouldn't this just one more? Catholics believe that priests should not marry, yet plenty of other denominations do - would you not recognize those marriages as legitimate?
I will not look away, depending on the attractiveness. My belief in traditional marriage stems purely from what I perceive to be nature and natural order. If a couple of guys want to do what they do to each other go for it, just do not expect me to condone it as normal or encourage it. Keep it to yourself.
