The DLC Covert MP6 is a great camera and falls into your budget nicely ! Retail is $149.99 but deals can be found.

    Objective:

We had one thing in mind when designing the MP6: build a capable camera for a low cost! We accomplished this by including several key components and features from our top shelf cameras. Notice we didn't take away quality.

    VALUE:

Todays trail camera consumer is bombarded with "fancy" features and options that normally don't add up to function and value. It's become common place for companies to make claims but never back them up. The MP6 makes 1 claim - MORE BANG for the BUCK! With the function and features included, it' easy to back up that claim.

    TECHNICAL SPECS:
    - 6mp resolution
    - 28 infrared LED's
    - Time Lapse mode
    - Up to 8GB SD/SDHC card
    - Takes pictures or video
    - Date, Time, Temp and moon phase imprint
    - Video resolution: 640x480 (16fps)
    - Trigger speed 1.2sec
    - Interval 1sec-60min
    - Photo burst 1-3 images
    - Adjustable PIR sensitivity (low, med, high)
    - Pipe Through security
    - color viewing screen
    - 5.1”x 4 ”x 2.9” in size
    - Operates on 4 or 8 AA batteries
    - Weather Proof

MP6 or Moultrie M80. I have both and they both take equal quality pics as far as I can tell.

The MP6 has a few more white outs or exposure issues. I've ran 3-4 M80s for a year and a half and have yet to have a badly exposed picture.

They both have plot mode which is cool, but moultries plot mode is better. It actually has a hybrid mode where it still triggers by motion during the night so you don't miss anything during the night. Coverts plot mode only takes day pics.

Both cams are gonna run you between $125 and $160. If you find them for roughly the same price, the M80 has slightly better features.

Also, not sure about the MP6, but the Moultrie M80 takes video with audio.

MP6 is a great camera, you can find the Red 40 for about $155 shipped. If you want to the spend the extra $5 I would get the Red 40.

I'll say stay away from the super cheap cameras, they can be trouble. I would agree with the majority of others in this post and recommend the Moultrie M80 or the Covert in that price range. If you could save just a bit more money, another good choice is the Bushnell Trophycam. They are in the $200 range.

I got a Wildgame Innovations IRx8 for 75 bucks off of Camofire.com. They have trail cameras on there every once in a while, you just gotta wait and find out. It works pretty decently. Not the greatest, but for public land it gets the job done and not the end of the world if someone steals it.
