Maybe this has been done and I could do a search but hey, it's not season yet and we all need something to talk about again. If you look in the dictionary under redundant, it says, see redundant... Think about it. Now money is no object so I want top of the line.... My original Bushnell Pro 400 is leaving me question the reliability of it anymore. It has to be close to 10 years old by now... not sure and it's been so good to me and reliable. I did send it back to Bushnell and they returned it repaired to me about 4 years ago... Matt / PA recommended a red led and of course the "ARC" or incline/decline technology... so that said... GO!
I bought a Vortex range finder and like it enough that I bought one for my son. Good luck with whatever you choose.
Have to say I have been satisfied with my Nikon...course I know that I could do spent more but that money went to optics, footwear and clothing...lol
I have the Leupold IV I think. Very happy with it. The only thing I wish I had was the background light for when it's a little dark to see the numbers other than that I've had it for quite a few years no prob. 8 power magnification and very clear.
I would definitely go to the store and take a look through the glass for yourself. I did this when I was looking for mine but unfortunately money held me back. I would have liked to get the Leopold with the red led crosshairs. Very nice rangefinder. I have never looked through a vortex but they seem to always make high quality optics
I've had a bushnell scout pro (or something like that) for about 10 years too. It now has issues. It works but it's a tad squirrelly and you have to take the batteries out between uses or it will drain them. I really beat the snot of out so I have no complaints with bushnell quality. But now I'm getting a leupold rx1000.
I have the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC. It is a good rangefinder except for the display. It is a black display which makes it really hard to range things in low light conditions. This is the only drawback for me.
Rob, I have the Arc 1000, but it's far from top of the line. I love it, though. It's also $100 off at Cabelas right now:D
I broke down and bought one this year. It's a Nikon ProStaff 3 it was only $180 and not top shelf merchandise, but its performed great for me so far !
Like already mentioned, the best thing is to go to a store and check them all out. Make the decision much easier! I have a Redfield Raider and so far love it. Haven't used it for deer hunting yet because I got it in January but it worked well for coyotes and target practice this summer so far.
For me, top of the line says Leuopold RX-1000i TBR. That's what I bought and it wont look back. The furthest I've ever ranges anything with it was 854 yards and that's beyond what I would need it for especially for archery. I got a deal on it at Cabela's a while ago, but i'm sure that's gone by now. It is the cat's meow with the lit reticle and angle calculation. That would be my recommendation.
I also have Leuopold tbr1000. I went to the store with a totally open mind and this rangfinder stood out of all them that I looked through. The red crosshairs and numbers are very easy to see in my opinion. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
Why don't you try one of the ones with a range finder in a pair of binos? They cost like $2,000 though. But you said money is no object.
I just picked up this one and really like it so far. Leupold® RX®-1000i Rangefinder with DNA? and TBR® | Bass Pro Shops
I have the Leupold RX-1000i TBR DNA and it is by far the best I have every used, I spent hrs at bass pro looking at them all and this stood out way above the rest. The red lit screen is the best and I will never go bk to the black!!! you need to defo go give this 1 a serious look.
