Looks like Rand is dropping out. So it's basically Clinton/Sanders vs Cruz/Trump?

Crunch the numbers. You could literally tax the top tier earners at 95% and still fall miserably short of funding just free college. Not to mention the host of other social programs Bernie dreams up. The liberals don't think its fair to have rich people, (unless they hold public office) and they wont be happy until everyone is poor. (Except for those in public office) lol

I also think they need to bring back the draft and or make it where everyone coming out of high school has to serve at least one term in the military. That way, all these hippies can be force to reality and realize where and how their freedom actually comes from! They have no clue and think everything is all rainbows and butterflies!

Make everyone pay their taxes once a quarter instead of stealing from our paychecks every week and it would not be long before there was some serious push for major tax reforms.

Here is a link that sums up each candidates proposed tax plans. How anyone could vote for Bernie based on this alone is beyond me.

Taxes aren't necessary, you've all been brainwashed to accept it as a reality and be voluntary slaves to the aristocrats. Do away with trade deficits and reinstate trade tarriffs. You solve a bunch of desperate and nagging problems all in one move.

Bernie is genuine, a genuine Socalist. Anybody do research on how well Bernie handles his own finances? He has as much debt as he does in savings.

Yes, I have. I have even mentioned it on this forum. The guy has no business implementing financial policies in my opinion.

    Right.

But at least you know what you are getting with Bernie.

I have no idea what Hillary, Trump, etc really stand for

Just because you know what your getting, doesn't mean it should even be considered a viable option for our country.

I don't think Hooker is arguing that point... Just that Bernie is a genuine(ly misguided) person. He truly believes in what he runs his campaign on and thinks it could work somehow. Others on the right and left put up such facades it is impossible to wade through the BS to see what they are really even about.

I would consider myself fiscally conservative, socially conservative and environmentally liberal. I vote conservative.

Bernie would be disastrous for this country if elected but he is consistent in his message and I think he is a true believer however misguided he may be. Having said that his plan would/could never be enacted through congress. He may have programs that he would like to see and he could put legislation forward but it would never get through the houses of congress. Most of the onerous stuff that Obama has succeeded in doing has been done by legislative law through the executive branch (with the exception of Obamacare) but taxation changes would have to go through congressional approval and there is no way. We need less government and fewer governmental programs not more. Until we get serious and attack the need to reform social programs our nations budget will remain a mess. The 800 lb. gorilla that no one wants to talk about especially in an election year.

I see myself as a "radical centrist", there are issues on both sides of the line that I am in favor of...fiscal conservative, strong military, protecting the environment (which I still can't understand how it became a liberal cause), and social issues (I believe in everyone being treated equally).

I think HC should be in Jail
BS might be the most "genuine" person running but his policies suck and will bankrupt us
    Trump is a joke
Cruz is slightly less embarrassing than DT but acts like a brat as well

I feel completely disenfranchised in this election...I'll either have to "throw my vote away" to a third party candidate or vote for the lesser of two evils...which I hate doing as well.

Quite frankly, I would love to see all of congress get replaced since they are as much as fault for the state of our country as the President...probably more so.

To clarify, I'm not talking about the working poor who do generate a family income but get various tax breaks so they owe no tax. I'm talking about the young people who live at home or are in college, have no job or a part time job. They pay no taxes because they earn no taxable income. They fall for the "free" education theory because they don't have a clue what taxes are.

But to be fair, it's not hard to see why they might like the "free" education theory. Anybody commenting here is college? Or have kids in college? Students are absolutely getting raped by tuition-and don't get me started on text books!! All that goes back to Clinton making it easier for students to get a subsidized student loan. The thought was there and correct-make college affordable for all. But as always, the law of unintended consequences took over. Schools now had a seemingly never ending pool of money they could suck out of students.

I don't have all the answers but I do believe we need to keep the FAR right and the FAR left from dictating the terms of the conversation.

The problem with "free" is it's never "free". But, in the scenario you use as an example, taxes aren't of actual consequence...the bigger concern there is irresponsible action (or non-action). I don't believe people should have to pay taxes but I don't believe they should be supported with "free money" to be a dead beat. The problem is again...that much of the "free money" supporting those same deadbeats is taxpayer funded....no tax money, no deadbeat support.
