Good read. Good article. Ted is a loud mouth and his parents should have told him to count to 5 before he opens his mouth. I think he does a great deal for hunting, but each time he says something stupid it's more like one step forward, two steps back. I have seen the guys that follow him around like a lost puppy. Why? I don't know, I guess we all need someone to look up to, but I find those turds just as annoying as Ted. I do like a few of his song though and have seen him live a few times and he is one hell of a guitar player.

    "Obviously intelligent man..." hahahaha.

Uncle Ted articles. Really? BHC is the ESPN of bowhunting. When is Skip going to start writing articles? Maybe Stern too?

I pretty much agree with everything that is said in the blog. I've never been a Ted fan and think I'd be perfectly fine as a gun owner without him. Morals mean more to me than a loudmouth hero.

For those of you who keep screaming "Ted for President". I think he'd fit right in there. I don't have much respect for those types either.

I see you (Justin) had to come to Bowhunting.coms defense a couple times. Don't cave in to those that threaten to not come back. Keep telling both sides of the story. If they leave because of this, you don't need them here.

Ted is the Rush of hunting. I agree with him on many levels, but his delivery often makes me cringe.

His overbearing personality and warped since of communication seems to get in the way of his message most of the time...

JM - I'm with you buddy, I just feel the need to try and talk a little sense into people from time to time. However, most of the time I find that I'm just more frustrated than when I began.

As for Ted, I really do find the guy entertaining. Few people make me laugh at their sheer ridiculousness in this hunting world. When Ted answers letters from viewers while in his robe on his couch, it's pure comedy. However, like many celebrities with a questionable past and over-the-top antics, I feel they aren't the best example or role model for people to look up to. I thoroughly appreciate what he tries to do for hunting and gun ownership as he is one of the most outspoken proponents of things we hold dear, I just wish he would find a little bit better way to communicate from time to time. His mannerisms and personality isn't exactly an accurate representation of the average hunter or gun owner. We're not all admitted right-wing blood thirsty whackjobs like Uncle Ted.

The comments were entertaining. I bet those that claim to not support BHC anymore, never did in the first place.
I for one, love this dump...unconditionally.

Free speech, unless you do not agree with the social conservative right, then you're just a liberal:)

Very well written and I 100% agree.

I have very little problems with Ted. Yeah he's a big mouth but I think he's done more good then harm. To be honest I see more harm being done at archery shops with these so called archery experts giving ****ty advice to young/Inexperienced bow hunters.

I didn't even think that many people read the blogs. How many comments does a normal blog get, 1 maybe 2 and this one has 49 right now? WOW!!

Not judging here but there are some enigmatic descriptions concerning what a staunch conservative is...

I personally like Ted... The only song I know of is "Catscratch Fever... not my scene but he makes me laugh and I like to laugh. But, I am not sure he holds much sway over my political, moral, ethical or spiritual positions. The article kind of lost my attention after referring to him as a conservative.

Staunch conservative, father to eight children (three out of wedlock), partner in two marriages, portion to October 2000 Spin magazine’s “100 Sleaziest Moments in Rock” following a 1978 affair with a 17 year old Hawaii native in which documents were drafted between Nugent and the girl’s parents making him her legal guardian (as she was too young to marry), anti-drug and alcohol crusader, staunch gun-rights advocate and unquestionable patriot, NRA spokesman, professed regular churchgoer, frequent television talk-show guest and bowhunting celebrity -- can perhaps be best described as an enigma of the times we live in

Don't all staunch conservatives have three kids out of wedlock and bang 17 year olds?

I've said before that I've never cared for Ted Nugent. His music was at it's most popular when I was in high school and I didn't like it then. I don't care for his music now. He does tend to walk a fine line between standing up for his beliefs and being hauled away in shackles. He could really use a sanity filter between his brain and his mouth sometimes.

Still, I do know who he is, and there are some aspects of him that I'm beginning to like. I like that he has the brass to stand up and say what he believes in. I get a kick out of some of his so-called "Nuge-isms". He makes me laugh every time he belches "Barack" in one of his blinds. (Yeah, it's crude, but it's still funny.) Are you kidding me?

That being said, I have no idea who the author of that blog is, but he lost points with me from the start by pretty much airing all of Ted Nugent's dirty laundry in his opening paragraph. It makes him sound like he has an air of moral superiority, and I despise people who have that quality. None of us are perfect and I don't hold anyone's past against them.

    Then there was this statement:
Who cares if he doesn't kill 180" or 200" bucks? There are a few hunters on here that I'd consider a much better source of bowhunting information than most of the television hunting heros. At least I wouldn't have to get past their chest-thumping "I'm a great hunter because I have an impressive trophy room" attitude. I'd take a week of hunting with Gri22ly in Kentucky over a week with some TV hero like Stan Potts, Michael Waddell, Lee Lakosky or some others.

I'd also hunt with Ted Nugent before I'd hunt with someone who is willing to sit back and condemn him because they think that they are superior for some reason. I've got enough of those hypocrites in my life. I don't need any more.
