I just got my new z7 in the mail today, and it's time to start pimping it out. I've been considering a few different brands for a rest, but haven't made up my mind yet. My only requirement is that the rest is black (just so it matches with the rest the bow:)). So far I have to say I like what I've heard about the NAP Apache and the G5 Expert, but I am totally open to any other brands/models.

Also any suggestions on stabalizers would be welcomed.

    Thanks.

The G5 expert is a great rest for target shooting but I hate it for hunting. If you are hunting with the bow I would get the NAP Apache or a QAD, both will keep your arrow contained without the possibility of the arrow slipping off like the G5.

I switched from a Limb Driver to a Apache, and so far, I like the Apache better, mostly because of full containment, seem a little quieter too, may just be me, but I would not hesitate to own another Limb Driver, it is a great rest.

The only thing that is really an advantage of the limb driver is that it stays up supporting your arrow longer than a down cable design, but I haven't noticed any difference in accuracy, my bow shoots better with the apache now, but that's because I paper tuned it, where my limb driver wasn't.

I am a Limbdriver fan. Very simple, easy to setup and no need to have to mess with tying a cord into your cable. Plus, because it stays up longer and is ripped out of the way by the limb, it is a more forgiving and accurate rest.

Ripcord Code Red. Just an absolutely amazing, easy to use rest.

I was torn between the Apache and Ripcord for a while, but the weight and bulk of the Apache is what pushed me away.

Scott, you can't go wrong with the Apache. I used it last year and I'm really loving it.
It's totally silent, which is the most important thing to me. I drew back with deer right under me, and they did'nt flinch.

That's what makes this rest so good - it's built like a tank. :tu:

Next year they'll have a new Apache that's lighter weight for those who are concerned about that. It will go well with your $250 carbon fiber quiver. :D

I have a ripcord and a qad, personally I like my ripcord better.
What turned me off of the apache was the size, didn't like the containment setup, but mostly because it wasn't in lost camo.

As far as a stabilizer, you really can't go wrong with an axion, k-tech or apache. A guy at work has the apache and loves it.

Limbdriver. As was stated earlier, they're SIMPLE (remember KISS:D), easy to setup, and coupled with a nice set of Sims pads, they're quiet, and contain your arrow very well.

I thought it was bulky at first but, I haven't noticed any weight issues and now it seams small to me. The only way I would buy another rest is if NAP improved it but, I don't even see how that is possible. I want tough, silent, simple and accurate in the woods and thats what it is. The tooless adjustment is a huge plus also. I couldn't be happier with it.

I like the Rip Cord code red the most. have used the QAD rests a bit & seemed to have a few problems with them (not dropping in time and breaking the clutch in it, being one of them). The Code Red is super fast to drop, small sleek design & very easy to set up. I removed the top containment arm off mine just to make it more simple ;)

Limbdriver. Only rest I will ever put on any bow I own. As far as stabilizers, I really like the octane 11.5". That's what I have on my bow right now, its actually the one in my avatar, or you can read my signature line.

Currently shooting a fuse ultra-rest and I love it. Also had a QAD and loved that too. Both great rests that I would have no problems buying again.
