I don't do burgers much at home anymore. Favorite burger resturant is probably Red Robin...the Royal Red burger. Who doesn't like bacon and egg on a burger??? :)

Sounds really good. I too add no fat to my venison... I have no trouble with it falling apart at all. I have used the oatmeal and egg but mine stays together without it. I am going to try the sauteed apples... that sounds really good. How long?

    Amen.

    Here's my "experience" burger:

I use a 50/50 mixture of ground venison and 93% lean ground beef.
I add an egg, A1 Steak Sauce, a little liquid smoke, seasoned salt, natures seasoning and cheddar french fried onions and a few saltine crackers(after pulverizing them in a food processor).

I actually brought a platter of these to a lunch at St. Jude. You should have seen the MDs and PhDs chowing down on what the menu listed as "Deer Johnny Burgers".

Sautee them in butter for 8-10 min, or untill they just start to soften up a bit.

With the strong flavors of the feta, apples & kraut it's like a party in your mouth! :tu:

There are a few ideas here I am planning on trying. Tonight I used the receipe from JZ except american instead of muenster (forgot to pick it up :() and A1 instead of ketchup and mustard(dont like either) it was very good. Thanks JZ looking forward to the next burger night and trying another one.

Call me a purist. Give me some 80/20 beef burger. Form a nice size patty, maybe 1/2 lb. Salt and pepper. Grill to medium. Add some mayo lettuce and tomato. Or a bit of spicy brown mustard and call it a day.

Best burger I've ever had.... Kobe beef burger at the burger bar - lumier casino. That's definitely high on the list.

i prefer ground venison seasoned with my homemade rub which consists of onion powder, garlic powder, cinnamon, chili powder, seasoned salt, pepper, cajun seasoning and brown sugar. cooked over a wood fired grill. topped with bbq sauce, american or provolone cheese, lettuce. placed on a butter basted grilled bun.

the best bar/resturant burger i have ever had was taylor grocery ( resturant) just outside oxford, ms.
