I do, haven't taken anything with em yet. A friend of mine has he said they work great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I heard the blades flex outward after you shoot them so that's kinda what turned me off of them because you can't get that back to factory after they flex out and bend that way they seem amazing though.
I've bent them back with a pair of pliers but they do have replacement blades for them. I don't usually shoot my targets with them but when I do it sure does ruin it fast. The targets that is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah I may check them out this year it all depends when I pick up my bow hopefully I pick it up Monday so I can tune in time for the season
I kept hearing guys talk up Shuttle-T's on various archery sites and decided in 2014 to give them a try. I still had a couple of my trusty Magnus Stinger 4 blades in the quiver, but first I shot a P&Y woodchuck that the farmer wanted gone.....just to test the accuracy and effects in the woods. The next target was a nice doe that went down in a hurry, so I was pleased. Last season, I killed 3 with Shuttle-T's and just got done fine tuning my setup in the west Michigan heat for this year. I like to experiment a bit as well, but stick with tried and true when it comes to the business end of my arrows.
congrats on the Z7 extreme. have been shooting one for 6 years and still get a charge every time I take it out. great bow.
I'm a fixed blade guy and I shoot slick trick magnums but if I had to choose a mechanical it would be either the kill zones or grim reapers
Tried some 100 gr solid VPA's today. For flight characteristics, on a scale of 1 to 10, a 10. Look like a real solid broadhead.
I've been shooting Killzones since they came out in 2012 and have taken several deer and antelope with them. I have gotten pass throughs on many shots. I shot a big black bear this spring and the tip of the BH poked through the off side about 1/4" but it went through the muscle of both shoulders just behind the shoulder blade. I shoot a Z7 Extreme at 29 inch draw and 60 lbs. I've shot it at 67 lbs as well with great results. Prior to shooting the KZ's I used Muzzys because they shot like my target arrows, were inexpensive and held up well. Both of these broadheads shoot well out of my bow and do a great job.
There is a lot of variables with a mechanical in order to reap the benefits of those big cuts they are capable of. Is it worth it ? Yes if they open up well for you. Angled shots, my favorite, kinda tough to have them open well. As you can see, I'm a fixed blade advocate. Like yourself, got the mechanical bug. I tried the Rage 2 blade on a Hoyt Alpha Max 70 pound with FMJ arrows that weighed 430 grains. They worked fine. But the gain was not better for me than the losses. Sent from my iPhone
