So I've been bugging the ol lady for a while now on either getting a bike or a upgrading my duck hunting boat(meaning a whole new boat). So how many of you guys have bikes? I'm talking Harleys. I've found a few that I'd like to have. There all in the 6-7k range. If you had or have them do you like them? Is it worth getting one? Did you ride it as much as you thought you would? I know the older harleys were pos but the newer ones seam to be pretty dependable. Or should I just take the Safe route and get a new boat? Here's a few pics of bikes around my area I want to go look at.

    Any feedback welcome.

Sweet bikes! Are they worth getting? How often do you get to ride?

I have an '07 Sporty Custom. I used to ride the piss out of it, but I've lived in 3 different major cities in the last 3 years and it's something I left at the homestead. Not a fan of the newer bikes even mine. Once you go to Stage 1 or 2 upgrades all it takes is a faulty ground wire on your fuel pack to leave you stranded a long way from home. I just went into a shop the other day. I really hadn't checked out the last two years models of Harleys and I'm not impressed and pretty sadened in the direction and look they are going for. And if your any size of a guy the Nightster you are looking at is not going to be a good fit. I'm 5'8" and I rode my buddies home the day he bought it and my knees were up above the tank.

I got a Fatboy. I love every thing about it. I put 4000 miles on it last year. Rides great, plenty of power. I wouldn't have any bike but a Harley.

Always rode and raced the "other" bikes...I rode a friends wide glide, I think it was called...and I can tell you it was like a lazy boy compared to my street bikes. Been on some drag Harley's, but they were not built for comfort

Customized a Fat Boy I bought new off the showroom in Jan 09, picked it up in May 09 and put about 3000 miles on it that year. (May-Nov) The following year I put 6500 miles on it (Apr-Oct). I LOVE IT! I had a Honda in the past that a drunk driver took out from under me then a Suzuki that I just didn't put the miles on. I wouldn't buy another bike until I got the one I wanted and I sure as hell did.

As it was on the showroom floor:
