Are we so far gone we cannot respect a different point of view? I just got back from lunch with one of my good friends, and she's gay, so what. I am also friends with some people who are anti-gay, so what.

They both have their views on the matter, I really don't care what they are, it matters not to me. It's about who they are not what they believe.

Can we not respect people for their character anymore and who they are? Gay, straight, believe in God, don't believe in God has no bearing on any of my friendships.

Right, so with that logic, shouldn't they cheer for everyone that walked in the door?

I mean the CEO that started all this mess is clearly that way too:

Cathy stated: "We are very much supportive of the family, the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that…We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."

Sure but It sounds like not many openly gays guys stopped by so they showed those guys some "Extra Loven" while they waited for more of them to show up. I'll bet every single demographice went to CFA yesterday since this support transends demographics and is rooted in a shared support for CFA being able to have views without being punished by liberal democrats.

August 3rd something else is happening to CF.........

    http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/02/us/us-chick-fil-a-debate/index.html

    "(CNN)
-- Gay rights activists are planning to hold on Friday a "national same-sex kiss day at Chick-fil-A," the restaurant chain whose president's opposition to same-sex marriage sparked a media frenzy."Let's show Chick-fil-A thanks for their support of Love, Equality, and the Real Definition of Marriage!" organizers posted on their Facebook page.Same-sex couples are expected to arrive at restaurants across the country and kiss in protest, then post video or photos of the event on social media."

Send that to Rahm Emanuel. He needs to here your support for CFA.

Tell him you have a dream that one day men will be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin or if they like to poke another dude in the butt hole.

Ah yes, the what-is-the-big-deal-I-was-just-following-the-bible explanation. Its no secret CFA supports and donates to groups that are against gay marriage. When you openly support bigot groups, expect some backlash. You can't hide behind the bible all the time.

I would have no issue if they wanted to live their life by "biblical definition", but when you make efforts to impose your beliefs on others (supporting bigot groups), then I'm not a fan. I love that he threw in the "married to our first wives" jab. He just can't help himself.

You know this subject has little to do with free speech.

Way to much religious implications involved.

If it was truly about freedom of speech I would be out there protesting alongside these crowds.

    But that's not the case.

Ya.. bad publicity is still good.. for a period of time.

Let's examine the fact that Chic has like 6 million followers on facebook.. Lady Gaga has nearly 60 million.

I'm just saying.. long term.. unless the ultra conservative religious folks eat a dumptruck load of Chic Fil A's each.. a stupid business decision.

The 3M corporation openly supports gay-marriage.. and guess what.. it didn't piss anyone off. Gay people everywhere are still buying scotch-tape.

That friendship became severely strained when he got all needy and clingy and obsessive and started stalking me. A guy can only take so much of that. I even told him it was ok if he told people that he broke up with me. He has cooled his jets of late and hasn’t been Jonesing on me as much so he is much more tolerable.

Well thats what I thought, but then people told me I was wrong.

I went back through the gay marriage thread from earlier this year. What I find odd is much the same people in support of CFA, were also against gay marriage in that thread. Must just be a coincidence.

Its strange how support of equality doesn't get much bad press these days. I guess some now view bigotry as a negative.

Unfortunately, yesterday was a disturbing display that many still don't.

Thanks for proving the intolerance of the gay movement ( and leftists in general). Where were the conservative mayors with there speeches of exile for anyone who dare contradict their beliefs.

Ahh...another gross generalization. You should get together with Vito and Hooker and have a party. I'll bring you a Jump to Conclusions mat.

I patronized CFA yesterday and have no problem with gays or gay marriage. I do however have a problem with the government imposing their will on business based solely on personal beliefs. According to you, I must've been the only one.

I'm sure there's plenty of bible-toting Christians who support CFA solely b/c of their stance on gay marriage (Chris Miles and others) but by no means did that make up the entire population of supporters. I would go so far as to say there were fewer religious supporters than there were people trying to make a statement to the government. But then again, what do I know? I was only there. Clearly the Huffington Post and others have a better grasp on this.

Maybe they cheered because a couple victims finally showed up for the lynching and they were growing impatient! LOL
