but its okay to believe in nothing, stand for nothing and accept anything as being true as long as it works for you, except of course, the Bible? Wow am I ever confused.

I think you re-contexted my quote some...

Okay let me re-state it another way... Its okay to believe in anything, stand for anything and accept anything as being true as long as it doesn't come from the Bible. Is that better?

I am not sure what you mean by imposing your will on others. Is that even possible? Maybe for a toddler... but that can be like herding cats. If you mean hoping that others will consider your viewpoint and or perspective in the same way they expect theirs to be considered by you, then we are in agreement. I am not sure that happened with Chic-Fil-A... from either side. I do not see where anyone acted in a bigoted or hypocritical way however and that is what I am trying to understand.

Where does it stop, Matt??? If there is to be total acceptance of whatever a person wants to believe, then where is the line??? You draw it one place, someone else draws it another ....so these pedophiles that feel it's OK to "love" a boy... is that OK? Should we respect them because THEY feel it's OK? Where is the line?????

I will tell you where it is ... God's Word .... as we have dismissed His Word, we see same sex marriage..,. The legalization of killing unborn babies .... pornography running rampant .... fornication... shootings .... it is so much worse than it used to be ....

Gays, abortion, fornication used to be frowned upon just a few short decades ago .. now they are protected ... God help our kids .....

Thousands of interpretations... You are correct.

But can they all be right?

Can any of them be right?

I don't think its about being good or bad. None of us are good...

We all stand condemned... unless a pardon is received.

Most Christians mean well... many would do well to shut up... maybe I am one of them. But the deal is, we are just as much in need of forgiveness as the rest of the world and we are trying to figure things out too. The only difference is "true Christians" have discovered free bread in a world full of starving people and have a desire to share it... expecting nothing in return.

None of us are good enough, deserving enough, un-bigoted enough, un-hypocritical enough... we are desperate for answers and even though we often get over exuberant and maybe say things the wrong way, the biggest joy in our lives is sharing the little we have discovered with those who will accept it for what it is.

In that example, you are talking about someone being harmed. The law prevents against this. Gays getting married does not hurt anyone.

MM, PT, and others...I respect your faith. I might poke fun at it once in a while, but I still respect that those are your beliefs. I know nothing I can say will make you understand that not everyone lives their life according to a book, and that its okay. Some live their lives according to how they personally believe others should be treated. Some of those beliefs were learned through life experiences, not from a book. If that sends me to an eternal life of discussing window treatments with Hooker over a warm miller lite, then so be it. At least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing I treated everyone equally. To me, thats worth more than eternal life in the clouds.

So in this CFA situation how was he imposing his will? Is he not free to express his opinion and use the profits from his own legitimate business for whatever he believes in, within the law of course? It seems the majority of folks in the US have Christian values which apparently to some means as Christians these people want to be "supremely correct", are incapable of thinking on their own, and because of that they are unknowingly being unfair to others.

It's worth noting that noone invoved in this CFA story was treating gay people badly, hatefully, or discriminating against them.

I think its been long obvious you are a jester in this community and in this community, your words are currency. Yours cost you dearly in terms of respect and credibility and based on what I have witnessed here, there are things you can ill afford to lose any more of. But have at it. Fart jokes, sight gags, provocative comments for shock value are your thing. I’m more interested in comments of thought and substance since your least common denominator posts don’t add value (Not that that is what you’re going for). I think it’s the younger generations way. I keep trying to understand kids today. I may be wasting my time.

But are there any answers that should not be questioned?

That is kind of the point of this whole thread. A question was answered, the answer was given, now the answer is being questioned, its really not about Chic-Fil-A at all.

He wasn't. In this case, his comments got overblown by liberals, and then taken even further by liberal politicians. That is what made it get out of hand. Then "freedom of speech" and the bible gave people excuses to be anti-gay. All while saying its not that they are anti-gay, but its about freedom of speech and christian beliefs. You know, because christians love everyone, as long as everyone uses marriage how they see fit, but otherwise, they love everyone, except for some of their acts, but they still love the person committing those awful sins. Hugs all around. Well not everyone, you can't trust those evil doing homos.

Like Tebow, my issue is not with him, its his fans.

The real loser in all of this is free speech. It got used like a cheap *****.

BINGO! Winner winner chick fil a dinner.

CFL was merely the latest vehicle. Its about free speech and liberal government powers trying to silence conservatives and their desire to punish any thought or speech that does not fit the liberal ideology.

Gasp! I have lost interwebs credibility and respect in the water cooler section of a forum. How shall I go on? Please tell me how I can earn your virtual respect. I beg you.

Certainly. There are a lot of answers that should not be questioned. For instance: If asked you if you love your children and you responded " Yes " why would I (anyone) question that?

You nailed it. I remember the last gay marriage thread I asked the exact same question. Where do you draw the line? But nobody answeredit.
I had a long talk with my father last night about this. He has been persecuted by the gay lobby and even had his job threatened because of his stance on gay marriage, and homosexuality as a lifestyle.
