What are some things that you do that you feel like increase your odds to get that buck on your hit list, Im not talking about scent control and stuff like that. Is there a certain call you always rely on, rattling, grunts, what ya got ? Me I just go in, and sit, I dont like calls because Im not very confident with them yet, so I always think that I sound bad, I own and primos can call, and a primos uproar buck roar, I have some sheds that I take with me for early season lite rattling, but dont get into heavy rattling during the rut, I guess you could say I leave up to fate. lol

I do the same thing I sit over a mineral/salt lick and this year food plots, and rarely call for deer any time of the season and just leave it to chance otherwise.

I try to start from the outside and work my way in. Sit in stand that are more observatory and then when I see where the deer are moving I will adjust my set accordingly and move in to that area. I tend to use grunt calls and rattling when I actually see the animal and can read his body language

I also like to observe for the first few weeks and then move if I have to. I've been working on taking different routes to my stands to see which affect the deer. I don't want to bump the deer on the way in and then my hunt is over.

Patience Patience Patience is the key waiting for the right wind and time of year also a big thing waiting on the deer. Also i use the highway as an advantage by walking down it and in the woods then down a holler to my stand instead of cutting across a feild, it's like the back door to my stand works very good. Also a little bait works good just something to keep thier attion on works well.

Being quiet is a big one. I will go in a few weeks before season and try to clear a good path to my stands so i am not crunching leaves and sticks the entire walk in. I will also let stands rest as well. If i have hunted it for a couple days I will let it reast for 3-4 days before I try it again.
