    They'll not get my guns either, possibly my bullets at a high rate of speed... one at a time, maybe in small bursts.

    I'm more afraid of getting my potato guns confiscated. Those will be harder to get on the black market. :D

    Some of the issue is that most lump all semi's in the same category such as turkey guns with assault rifles. :alien:

    Because Assault Rifle is a MADE UP TERM:busted: meant to alienate the weapons back when Clinton enacted the "Assault Weapons Ban." That sounds better than "Semi Automatic Gun Ban." Assault Rifles are simply semi automatic rifles with big magazines, they are looked down upon because of their appearance....A black rifle with a pistol grip looks scary to the public compared to a wood grain stock rifle.

    Grenades are explosives and a bazooka is a rocket propelled explosive...both a little different than a centerfire rifle don't we think?:confused:

    Why not ban handguns along with semi auto rifles...heck, shotguns can be sawed off and concealed, lets ban those too.

    Anyone catch that BS 20/20 deal the other night? EXTREMELY anti gun, Disney really took a low blow that time, IMO.

    Guns are not the problem, PEOPLE ARE!!!! When you let people slip up time and time again until something really bad happens, you need to re-navigate back through and see where you made your mistake. Certainly there are going to be kooks who do CRAZY things, hell in the right hands, a simple steak knife can certainly be a very deadly weapon. GUNS don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people!!!

    The idea behind the Second ammendment is that we, the citizens, can defend ourselves against a terranistic govt. With that in mind we should have the same guns the govt. has (of course back then that was cannon and flintlocks but technological escalation is beside the point). I'm shopping for a tank this week to go along with my 50 BMG. I just wonder if I can find ammo for it?

    This whole thing frustrates me.
    People are morons. It's already illegal to kill people. Instituting more gun laws does nothing but hinder law abiding people. Our governor "Fast Eddie" who may only be out done as a slimeball by Blagoievich, is calling for all kinds of gun control.

    Well, time to piss some gasoline on this fire. lol. First off, I am a democrat. Now that you all have stopped booing.

    Article [II.]

    A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    Let's take a look at this. hmmm, from a rational intelligent and lucid interpretation. Here is what I think it means.

    Article [II.]

    A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    The most important part: the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

    militia= –noun
    1. a body of citizens enrolled for military service, and called out periodically for drill but serving full time only in emergencies.
    2. a body of citizen soldiers as distinguished from professional soldiers.
    3. all able-bodied males considered by law eligible for military service.
    4. a body of citizens organized in a paramilitary group and typically regarding themselves as defenders of individual rights against the presumed interference of the federal government.

    infringe= –verb (used with object)
    1. to commit a breach or infraction of; violate or transgress: to infringe a copyright; to infringe a rule.
    –verb (used without object)
    2. to encroach or trespass (usually fol. by on or upon): Don't infringe on his privacy.

    I have been asked if I,as a democrat, believe in gun control. I do. I believe that everyone should learn to use and carry a gun. I think that if I were going to assault or rob a person I would be less inclined to do it if I thought they had a gun and knew how to use it. Just look at Australia, they banned guns and crimes with knives and beatings went up 1000%. Just because you take a criminal's gun doesn't make him stop. It just takes the victim's options away.

    I believe an assault rifle is by ones own defintion or how it's used. If I use my AR to kill people, yes, it is considered an assualt weapon. If I use it strictly for target use, it's a target weapon. If I use my bow to kill people, it's an assualt weapon right?

    I believe any and all law abiding citizens should not only have the right to carry a gun but they should also have grenades, bazooka's, C4 and maybe even a missle or two... Self defense weapons on their best. I was trained to use many different weapons in the military so why shouldn't I be able to defend my family or others as a civilian too? Do I need to have a badge or be active military to be able to have the right?

    Should this country come under attack, do you think our military would be able to protect it all? I don't think so. I was taught by my late father that it's better to be safe than sorry... I agree!

    Sure, at some point these weapons can and will fall into the hands of people that would mis-use them but that's where our judicial system needs to step up to the plate.

    In short, there should be no such thing as a second time offender. Look how many crimes are commited by parolees or have multiple offences. No three strikes you're out. You get one chance, you blow it, game over!!!

    Just my thoughts...Carry on...:d

    "Instead of having Planned Parenthood distribute condoms in schools, they ought to get the NRA to pass out revolvers. It would save more lives"

    :cool:

    On a serious note, guns are obviously not the problem. If you look at most violent crimes, the person doing the act usually has some kind of problem (usually family/drug/money) that out him/her over the edge.

    If guns weren't available, then other devices would be used for murder (vehicles/blunt objects/knives...you get the idea.) Why stop at semi auto's and explosives, how about knives and pipes and crow bars. Better take away chainsaws and big sticks too :confused:
