    Woot! Chicklets hit 18 weeks today and got my first egg.

    The lab lays around a lot but I don't think I'm going to get many eggs from her. :)

    I have barred rocks and red sex links. I'm guessing this is from one of the sex links.

    I am betting all I own on the sexlink ...I have had one lay at 16 weeks .....the barred rock is more like 22 weeks

    I usually get eggs sooner than this from the sex links. I've been calling these ones slackers. They don't eat very much of their feed, instead they forage around and goof off a lot. That probably has slowed them down a bit. Plus, there are two roosters that pester them. The roosters seem to hit puberty much faster than the hens.

    I have three horses. Since we now have a barn of our own a pig and beef cow will be in our near future, too.
