I went to buy a crew cab Tacoma 4x4 cause I wanted one to lift and ended up coming home with the Tundra Crew instead... I'm just use to a full size with a v8 so me and the Taco didn't get a long in the power department... If they'd build a Taco with the 5.7 I'd have to own one, that thing would be FUN to drive and just stupid fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is my beauty. 2001 f150. Bought er back in 2008 for $2,500. Its the first and only vehicle i have owned so far. It has 170,000 on it now, rattles like crazy on the inside, everything is loose, but gets me from point a to b, she has seen nothing but dirt roads, but is a trooper, no rust a few dents and runs well. Loves to play cash, waylon jennings and outlaw country on sirius Most people say fords are junk, but this truck has never let me down, $2,500 bucks and been driving it since 08! I love it haha
My tacoma shocked me the last couple weeks. Slick street michelin tires and it crawled through swampy spots and mud holes that bigger trucks lifted up with big mud tires sank in and had a LOT of difficulty getting out. Tacoma flat out lies about its fuel mileage if you go crew cab 4x4, but that said it's still slightly better than a crew cab 4x4 full size pick up.... and the darn thing is so light I'm not sure you CAN get it stuck if you put some tires with decent tread on it. As an aside, I always crack up at some of the fuel mileages reported by guys. My dad is the worst, he has never owned a truck that didn't get 20+ on the highway. :D I've had a Ford 6.0 diesel, GMC, Chevy, 2 F150s, and now a Tacoma... When I compare what guys online report to my exactly calculated mileage, I often just scratch my head. My trucks must have all just had small holes in the tanks, cause they consistently got 3-4 mpg less than the average online user. Must be a pride thing to inflate these numbers.
That was why I initially asked here. I've been a Toyota guy since my freshman year of college. Belong to many of the forums, etc., The mpg numbers vary so drastically it's insane. My truck with 265/75/16 Duratracs gets a solid 16-17mpg mixed. All highway, who knows, but there are guys on Tundrasolutions claiming consistent 21mpg with the 5.7 4wd. Not buying it:D Then again, they're all trucks. They aren't a Prius. Glad to see you're liking the truck.
My F 250 5.4L averages 12.3 miles per gallon. Oh well at least it pulls our camper anywhere I needed to go. I'm not looking forward to driving it to Louisiana this summer though pulling a camper.
