Here is my western Oklahoma rifle buck. He was a fighter, as you can see from all the broken tines. He had gashes all up and down both sides of his neck. I was happy to take him.
Some great deer fellas. My son killed a small buck opening morning of shotgun season, but I won't post a pic. Errant shot made for not so good pics. Here is a 9pt my friend killed on Saturday morning. We got to help with the 1/4 mile drag lol, some friends, huh? LOL Another friend took this doe opening morning at my moms farm. This is his 1st year hunting IL, he also took this buck with his bow earlier that week.
Nice deer everyone. This thread is making me SOOO anxious for monday. It's wild, I haven't looked this forward to an opening day of gun season for as long as I can remember.
Yeah, yeah...we've all seen the pics already. Whats the big deal about 180" of antler? Ooooh wait, I figured it out. The 180" of antler is on ONE deer. My bad...carry on. Congrats again, fletch.
I almost didnt post it again because I knew I might catch a little grief. lol Hey, I may never kill another one that big!
lol Fletch...Heck, I was wondering what took you so long to post it on here! Thats what this thread is for! Great deer everyone!!
Fletch, I must have some how missed that you shot that buck. What a awsome buck. Congrats on true brute.
Our 4 day, 2nd season opens up Dec. 2nd. If all goes as planned, I will be taking my dad on his first deer hunt since he had his stroke in May 2009. He applied for a tag, but I forgot to renew his FOID card, so he couldn't hunt the first season. Hopefully it gets here by next Thursday. To have him kill any deer would make my season.
I'll go ahead and post it back in this thread since it was a gun kill. Finished my mount up last night. Very pleased with the results of it. Used a big dose of Rancid's method plus a car wash in the later stages. Pretty much confirmed this to be a 2 1/2 year old, would have been something specail in a year or two, no regrets though especially on public land. From this To this, in about 7-8 hours total
Nice deer, almost got the job done opening day here in Ohio. But he was bedded inbetween two fields at last light well over 100 yards away... too far for my mossberg 500 with slug sights. Back at it tommorow after school, goodluck too everyone else!
Here's my opening day black powder kill. Kinda was hoping I would get him with the bow and arrow...but muzzleloader it is.. Pulled the trigger at a great bow range to...20 yards.
I was a little too picky. This weekend I won't have that problem I saw 20+ deer, 4 bucks, 2 of which I had solid shot opportunites at, but the one I wanted I just couldnt quite get the shot i needed.
