Ok guys and gals ... let's see those gun kills! Opening day today .. took the biggest doe I have ever seen ... she is a slob! and my nephew shot a beut as well .. My Dad saw a bunch ... just didn't get a good opportunity ... SlabCrappy shoulda had one but didn't shoot but he will get it done as he always does ... So let's see what ya all got!!!
First public land deer, pic with me in it is on another camera. 11point, would have been a typical 12 but left side crab claw was only 1/2". Nephew and future hunter, have to get him broken of the city Shortly before prepping him for a euro mount
Nice looking does there Tony, and congrats on the buck cls74. I shot a doe Friday afternoon, but didn't have a camera with me. I saw 13 (5 bucks) yesterday, but only 2 does today.
Nice deer so far fellas. Hopefully I'll be posting up some gun kills starting next monday. I still have 5 tags to fill & intend to do my best to fill them all.
I already posted these in the Illinois shotgun thread but I figured I'd share here as well. I personally didn't have any success this weekend but on Saturday morning my dad killed a pretty nice buck. Last time we took pictures of a big buck we didn't even think about tucking the tongue back in or having a nice back drop, but I decided taking pictures by the pond would turn out really nice, and I'm glad we did it. Here's a couple pictures of my dad's buck.
cls ... great buck! Brandon, that thing is a slob! Congrats all! ..... Ryan and Matt .. looking forward to the pics!!!
Congratulation's everyone!! Brandon, that pic Is awesome!!! Congratulation's to your dad on a stud of a buck!!
Here is mine and my brothers. We've had both bucks showing up on trail cameras all season and I got my kill on video.. Great deer so far everyone!!
Shot this guy November 17th just a little before 7 at 106 yards. I set up in our tower blind that overlooks two 1 acre brassica plots and get situated. I let out two big grunts and sit back in the chair. Maybe a minute passes and I see what looks like a big blob slowly walking across our plots. As he was walking across and the sun was illuminating the field ever so slowly he raised his head and I knew he was a shooter. I just didn't know he was only a mainframe 6 pointer. Luckily, since I hunt in a county that you must have 4 points on 1 side, he had 3, 1 inch stickers. This is one instance when I disagree with the 4 point rule. He is an old buck definitely on the downward side. I never got a picture of him on any of my game cameras all summer. Needless to say he is an awesome mature buck. 21 inches wide, 14 inch G 2's and field dressed at 195 lbs. Glad to get him out of the gene pool. Sorry about the pics but it was raining so the garage had to do. GO MIZZOU!
Boy did I. I walked up to him and was going oh crap. After looking at him I knew they were at least an inch but got the measuring tape out of the truck to give me some piece of mind. All were at least an inch. Thank goodness. Congrats on your big boy Rory.
That is an awesome mainframe 6! Looks like the dog is ready to eat...brought the bowl and everything.
That is my mini Australian Shepherd and that is her beloved frisbee. She'll play until she pukes. She has started to develop a taste for the deer blood though to the despise of my wife.
