We're in the process of building our man cave in the basement. It's going to have a finished section, and an unfinished section. In the unfinished section is going to be workout equipment, storage, and of course a place to work on bows :D. We'll be building a workbench tomorrow, but I need to see ideas on how to set everything up. Thanks, Rory
I shoot a Hoyt..no need to work on it all the time.. My new cave will start construction in a few weeks.
I've added a few things since I took this pic. That little "cubby hole" to the right now holds a target chest high so I can shoot for tuning purposes etc. Also, I added a vise to the bench the other day. Btw...this is in my garage.
I just ordered mine this past Moday. I've got two more grandbabies on the way so I need to free up a bedroom which is currently my office and I also need to clear all my archery/hunting crap out of my basement... So this will be my new office/workshop/mancave. This isn't the exact one I'm getting because I had to custom order it but it's very similar. It's 12x28 without a porch which I'm adding on after I take delivery. I wish I would have looked into these cabins earlier but I didn't because I thought they would be outragously priced; they're not.
I ordered it from Lakeside Cabins in Shiloh, OH. They don't have a web site but their number is 419.895.1998. They're Amish (probably Mennonite since they have phones and such) built and like I said, priced right. I had to custom order mine. It will have 6 vinyl windows with shutters, 2 9-lite steel doors, gable vents, 8' sidewalls, blue steel roof, etc. The cabin is $4,964.00 (delivery included) plus tax comes out to $5,299.07 It would have been quite a bit less than $5,000.00 without extra windows and steel doors. Those items added real close to $1,000.00. Once I get back to work I plan on building my dream barn... A 40'x80' pole barn which will then house my office/workshop/mancave... Then I plan to buy a small piece of land in southern Ohio and move this cabin down there. FWIW, I talked to a buddy of mine that does general construction and he said he would have almost that much in materials alone with no labor... Jeff, No web site for the company building mine but there are other companies that build them. The web site I grabbed the picture from is where I was orginally going to order from but I found the other place closer to home and they're considerably less money. If there are places in your area that sell mini buildings or cabins, they can lead you in the right direction. The web site that I got that picture from is http://www.countrycabinsllc.com/contact.html#cabins
Are you kidding? That (wood) would require cutting and splitting firewood...lol... Seriously though, I'm planning on puttting two small baseboard heaters in it. They're pretty efficient these days and should keep it toasty warm...
Until I stopped to actually price one I thought they'd be upwards of $20,000.00 or so. To say I was shocked when I saw how affordable they are is a gross understatement...
Nice work area. Not that you'll do it but... Having worked retail for several years I saw it time after time where people would draw their bows back with the release hanging on the bottom limb as yours are... Let's just say... I wish I had a dollar for every string I had to put back on or replace after it derailed...:D
