I would love to pick your brain on sunfish someday. I swear we have new species popping up here in Ohio LOL

Just like in the river (Lake Erie Trib) every panfish other than crappie we catch has a different pattern and color to them.

Sunfish aren't my specialty, but I know they are troublesome to identify even for the experts. There are warmouth, pumpkinseed, redbreast, rock bass, bluegill, green sunfish, orange-spotted, longear and some I'm probably forgetting. As far as I know, most (if not all) can form a hybrid species. For fish in the bass family, hybrids can't reproduce, this is also probably true for sunfish.

I get up there once or twice a year if everything works out. Try to fish the Ice Challenge on Le Homme Dieu every year but doing a different tournament that weekend instead this year.

I see this year it's cash only prizes. Kind of a bummer in my opinion. I like to win fishing related items during contests personally. Good luck to you!

It's on Lake Ina in Evansville. I usually fish Mary quite a bit. This year not so much with the weather...

My biggest largemouth through the ice, came in at just over 17 inches. He was released.

I have never caught a largemouth through the ice! I'm sure it's quite the fight.

Eh, after pulling up crappie after crappie it feels a little tougher, but still nothing too wild.
