Antlers aren't the only thing used to identify deer. Look for hair coloration/patterns, scars, notches in the ear, body shape/size, etc.

I use the deers goals and aspirations to identify them.
"I can't wait to be on his wall"- I can pick him out of the herd any day

Here the buck I call Poplar. He was a pretty tall 2 year old last year. He has a broken right side in his picture from last year. SUNP0232.jpg

Looks like my camera fell, sorry for the bad angles.

I agree he looks to be more like a 3.5 yo and the one in the background looks to be a better 3.5 yo possibly a 4. The back deer looks like he has some decent mass but short growth last year.

Thanks guys. I have only been hunting 4 years and still not the best at aging deer. Comes with time I guess.

Last year during the summer I had a buck with split brows on both sides walk by my camera during the first week of June. He might not have split on both sides this year but he is already ahead of where he was last year in size. Just hope he sticks around this year so I can see what he becomes.

My friend who runs my cameras for me sent it to me on the 22nd. He had the cameras up for two weeks. So I'll have to ask for sure but I'd say about a week to a week and a half ago.
