I think tomorrow I'll unpack the new blind just to see what it looks like. It's still in the box. LOL Haven't had time. I'll have to take some pix.

Another thing I really like to do...

Add the third deek (sorry duke), another jake...the "pervert" watching it all unfold. Usually a jake, sometimes a hen. And yes, I realize three decoys is a lot to pack in but it's like a minny adult turkey film for the slow days:deer:

Good catch on the facing the blind, Rob.

    And AWESOME tip BM.

How is that Germ places what he calls the triangle of death? :deer:

When's the first season open for everyone, with the looks of replies, the pictures should start flowing!

April 25th can't come soon enough, Rob. I have some personal days saved, and I may just use them for some Fridays this season.

I will be chasing them March 20-23 in AL.
    KY doesn't open until April 18 - May 10.

With that big of a gap, I am trying to work out plans for a weekend in either TN or NC with my friend who just moved down there....but with tag costs, I will most likely have to sit it out.

We have a youth season here the weekend before opener, or else the first weekend in April can't really remember, but either way I'll be taking out an even younger youngster to try and get him/her a bird on film. Should be better than last year's candidate for this youth hunt:bash: . Turkey gobbling at 50 yards and he turns to ask Jarrod when we are leaving, just isn't going to be his thing.

So far Tembry's slated first. I hunted KS when it opened April 1st. It was the first they started an early archery season but wow Tem, March is early. Are there other early starters?

This is going to be my setup for this season.

Redhead also came out with a full strut decoy that just kicks the crap out of the B-mobile and pretty boy as far as details go. I might buy one of those as well.

Alot of the Southern states open in March...they get spring sooner than those of us north of them. But, it is so early in spring, that the birds can be somewhat harder to call in than later on in the year like when I get back to KY...terrain could play into this as well I suppose though.

Anyway, yea SC, FL, MS, GA, AL, TN all start in March..may be a few more even. I think the southern end of FLA (divided into thirds) opens March 16, and AL and MS open March 15. Pretty early.

It is kind of weird making the 6 hr drive down there from here...you are essentially driving through the phases of spring. Leave KY where things are JUST beginning to green up and bloom, and by the time you arrive all the foliage is pretty much on.

That is the Ground Max Vision. The new ones look more like Double Bull blinds, were they are a full 360*. I got it for like $100, so i couldnt pass it up. The zipper is messed up though. It wont zip up all the way, so im going to have to get that fixed.

Just thought i would add this. This is a portable shield blind slightly brushed in with sapling limbs stuck in the ground in front of it. My Youngest son is in it. In the background believe it or not is a portable camo tree umbrella laid on its side to fill in the back ground and slightly brushed in.
ps:: That tree to the right of him,,, I missed a dandy 140" buck at 10 yards 6-7 years back out of it

I set my blind wherever the situation dictates and don't worry about brushing it in. I currently have a double bull dark horse blind. I use 2 or 3 decoys depending on the season. 2 hens one feeding, one alert or the two hens and a strutting jake decoy made by spin-n-strut. This thing rocks! The tail can be raised and lowered and it rotates 180 degrees when you pull the string. Check it out at spin-n-strut.com.
