Even Rambo would have chosen the rifle:D But Nugent would have picked the Glock G20 10mm;)

I doubt it, even Uncle ted knows the value of a rifle vs a handgun!

I picked the bow. If you have seen me shoot a gun at deer you'd know why. I'm better off throwing bullets at them.

Ha ha ha you beat me to it.

Yep the gun is as much about keeping/protecting your stuff as making meat.

Definately the gun. If it's a case of survival I'm sure after a while you wouldn't smell all that great, so getting close to a animal to shoot it with a bow would be tough.

All you tough guys and your "I can make a bow later." I'd like to see some of you try.

    Possible competition...?

Go into the woods. Take nothing. Make a bow. Not the perfect time of the year, but why sugar coat the scenario. I'd like to see some of you go out and make a bow, arrows, tips, fletchings, and string all from your local woods.

I can honestly say not a chance for me. So who's got what it takes?

making a spear, or bow, or whatever is one thing when it's for survival, it's a totally different thing if it's a competition or something. doing it for fun or because of a challenge or dare is completely different. i think that in the right situation( like your life depended on it) you'd be surprised what you could possibly do, but for fun, no thanks

Id take the gun... the bow might be fun for morale.. but overall i feel the gun would be the right choice. Not only can you shoot animals, but you can start fires, signal search and rescue parties, and protection. I would save the ammo for dire needs (search party, fires) The scope could be broken up for fire starting and signaling. The stock could be shaved down for fire starter... I'm sure there are more uses for the gun after the ammo has run out.

If my life depends on it you bet your a....., bottom dollar I could do it. I'd have the gun for immediate needs so I could take my time. I think while doing my post season scouting this year I'll go ahead and find what I need. I'll keep sinew from my next kill to make a string. Its really not that hard and it won't be the first I've made.

Bow for me, I don't think 100 round is gonna last me as long as I'd like, and sure as hell ain't gonna last as long as 24 arrows are.

Ditto! I suck at shooting a gun. I'll take my chances at being 24 for 24 with the bow instead of 3 for 100 with a gun. Then reuse the arrows.
